Thanks Skyridee. Here’s the one I used. Not necessarily cheap when you have duals, but this needle and seat lasts awhile. I hope this link works. If not then maybe copy and paste it? Weber Redline 34 ICT/ICH Carburetor Rebuild Repair Tune-Up Kit 92.0286.05
Hi Mike, I think some of my issues could be caused by some of the issues you mentioned. When I take off the top of my carbs the gasket looks dark, like it's wet. I think my needle is not stopping the flow of gas once the bowl is filled and causing gas to soak the gasket. I have a Carter electric fuel pump with no regulator. Maybe this is causing the problem and the needle could be worn as you showed. I will try this kit and hope for the best. I hope this solves my carb tuning problems. I'm noticing that my carbs are not adjusting when I turn in the idle mixture screw. The idle stays the same, especially on the passenger side. I will try the carb kit and see what happens and then maybe get a regulator. The other thing I need to upgrade is the throttle linkage. I notice the connectors at the ends of the rods that connect the crossbar to the carb linkage is loose, probably worn out some how. The parts to replace these are not worth it for the price and would rather just switch linkages. Anyways, a lot of jabber to say, thanks for the video and I will try this to see what happens. Side note, I think JBugs is like 45 minutes from my house. I think we are spoiled out here in SoCal. Oh and I have one more question for you I will save for next time.
45 mins from JBUGS? Man y’all ARE spoiled!😂 But for real when I checked them out all they had were the cheap Empi hardware. You really do have to find the Weber Redline kit for this to work. Then get the floats set right, and the MALLAMPATI regulator for CB is the bomb. Also curious what jet sizes you run? I’ve seen your issue when someone had a vacuum leak, or needed bigger jets, or their throttle plate was slightly open at idle.
@@bomberobus I was actually gonna ask the same. I think I have 175 jets. I also noticed the plate was slightly open at idle. I gotta check why. I also drove on freeway yesterday and could not go past 60 with the pedal to the metal. I know my engine has more power.
@@bomberobus yeah dude I think the butterfly is slightly open and won’t close all the way. There must be something wrong. Not sure if there is an adjustment for that or if something broke. I gotta take the carbs off again and check. I spent like 10 hours last weekend on the carbs but I also had some electrical issues that needed addressing.
Thanks Mike. I find them on EBay. That particular one was sourced by Impart1731. Seen then packaged different ways, but I go for the ones shown in the box for some reason.
So far the CSP linkage is still working like champ. I’m gonna try to stay with that “bellcrank” or “push/pull” linkage if I can ever get some Weber 40’s. Dub daily!
My trike doesn't want to start after I go into a gas station or restaurant and it seems flooded. Is this the culprit? I don't know where you got yours but everywhere I search is says unavailable.
There’s very good odds that this is the culprit, but not guaranteed. I had same problem, so I took the air filter off after a drive and babysat the carbs…..sure enough I heard and saw fuel draining into the throat of my carbs. The float level was good, but the needle and seats were shot. I replaced them with the cheap ones (not knowing any better) and they didn’t last long. Only Weber hardware for me from now on. Maybe search eBay for “impart31” is where I found those. I saw that CBperformance claimed to have some in stock too.

You got the right idea . the gasket vs. shim !
Thanks Jimmy. Yeah seems like the thicker gasket and thinner washer form Empi might even each other out, but the quality was definitely not there.
As usual, fantastic attention to the details, good info, great vid 👍👍👍
Appreciate it OTTO. People like me who won’t/can’t shell out the money for Webers need all the help we can get with our baby carbs.
Great vid. The red line look like great quality in comparison. The old rubber ones was toast! 👍🤙
Thanks bro
Greetings sir. What linkage are you using, if I may ask?
great info, is there an Amazon link for this kit? i need it for mi empis 34's.

Great job! This was super helpful, I’ve been looking at carb kits for my Webber 40’s, I’ll check out Redline.. I appreciate all your hard work 😓
Thanks because it does take some work. Worth it though for the VW community. Man I want some dual 40’s…one day

Sure can. I made a vid for the Bus, but I’ll do one one the Bug too since it’s a different pump and location. 🤙🏼

A quality viton tipped needle valve should way outlast a brass tip.never had to replace the ones in my bike
I’d have to think that on a bike your carbs never get hot either. Probably has way less over pressure problems in general.
👍
