- I’ve been in the process of recording demos for a new EP and absolutely loving the whole process of turning little riffs into full-fledged songs. Recording it all myself and listening back has helped me be really intentional about leaving space and thinking about where new colors should come in. I’ve been thinking of making more videos where I show all the layers 🖤 here’s a preview of a song!

Having grown up watching tons of 80s movies, I could totally see this song playing as the lead character drives down PCH in a convertible after walking out of his dads law firm to go follow his dream of being the worlds greatest potato artist or some shit. Bonus points if the convertible is a ‘66 mustang that his parents forbade him to drive but he can’t let go of it because it’s the car Cindy taught him the intricacies of potato art in before she died.

I know I'm gonna get hate for this, but I swear it's meant to be a compliment.
Ever since I heard your ooollllllllld stuff and heard how great your voice is (which blew my mind... I was like, "How she gonna be that great at singing ALSO??"), I always wanted more. I know you're known for being an amazing guitarist, but I think the guitars are way too busy for the "chorus", and that your vocals should be the focus on that part. Riff in a post chorus or interlude. Just my opinion (which you may never even read 😅)
As a counter-point to your nice suggestions (and I don't mean to be disagreeable or argumentative, just giving my own 2 cents in addition): I really love the layering in the chorus at the moment, the simplistic and memorable vocal phrasing (lasting on 'always') makes plenty of room for the guitars to shine, and the riffs do well in supporting the warmth of the lyrics. The sonic 'busyness', I'd say, can be managed in the mixing phase, where the guitars and vocals can be better separated in the space.
Especially in pop, it's becoming rarer to have a polyphonically rich chorus, and this was extremely refreshing -- and for me personally, the main draw to the song as it is. I could also totally see it being the last chorus with earlier choruses being simpler or something to that extent (followed by riffs in the post-chorus/interlude as you've greatly suggested), but I love how vivid the section is in its current state
