    Overview:
Over the past couple years I've read over (and summarized) over 100 books. And I'll be the first to admit that during that time I've made a lot of mistakes.
I started out with a lot of pre-concived ideas about reading, that really hindered my progress and it's likely you do as well.
This video we're going to bring awareness to each of those, and talk about how we might move past them to increase our reading efficiency and retention.

    Wonderful insights Ethan :)
The common mistake I used to do was not taking notes (Journaling). But nowadays, I maintain a separate notebook to jot down key points, so at anytime we can just see that and refresh what we read previously.

Really good insight on the last one Ethan! The map is not the territory is definitely getting it's own [[ ]] in my Vault! And I definitely struggle with the whole, "reading from front to back." Keep it up!

Very interesting, we share common traits on reading reading comprehension and retention. Can you tell the order of books that you did read or could you give me an idea on the books that yku recommend I should begin to read to increase your knowledge and for reading retention?

What are your thoughts on taking notes on paper as opposed to system like obsidian? I think with writing it is easier for me to internalize and remember my notes and it's better for keeping a journal but it's harder to manage and add quotes. What are your thoughts?

I think it's such a personal thing it's hard to choose just one. For example, I brainstorm best on whiteboard or physical writing. But for reading and organizing information I feel even though there is a barrier of having a device to take the notes the benefits outweigh that cost.

i was taught every mistake mentioned in video in the public school
hopefully, when i started to learn on my own i realized that it's not right way to do things and i started to seek how to do it better
"How to Take Smart Notes" is best book about learning I ever read, Zettelkasten is awesome
from your video i learned that i shouldn't read everything - and it solves my problem, as i have many books on list to read, but it takes (limited) time
with your help i realized that i don't need everything that's contained in the book
      thank you Ethan!! 💕
