The left pedal on the piano makes the sound less loud (the "hammers" are closer to the string so there are less vibrations The middle pedal only does something on some pianos, on mine it does nothing, but if they do something it's the same thing as the left pedal but only on the left side of your piano. You can hear the melody on the high part better and the cords or whatever your left hand is doing sound less loud. I'm sorry if I made mistakes or if the sentences didn't make sense, english isn't my native language
