      I've been watching a bit longer than you, since Magic's Showtime era with Kareem. Yes, as a diehard purple & gold, i'd admit Curry is more lethal than Magic by far. The game has truly evolved and so has the players. I'm a realist and not a prisoner of the past.

      If Durant never joined the Warriors, Curry would have averaged those numbers every season. He would be considered a top 5 player ever, and the Warriors would still have won 3 championships if not MORE. They are a different team when led by the splash bros, and the statistics prove it

    • @jacquesl9972
      @jacquesl9972 4 года назад +4

      @@Chris-yw2zp Warriors would not have won 3 championships or more if they didn't get Durant, lol. Having Durant allowed the Warriors to completely demolish the NBA in 2017 because there is no answer to a Curry-Durant PnR and in 2018, they barely scraped by the Rockets.
      Statistics show that the Warriors (without KD) are historically good at defense, but the offense isn't as good come playoffs when teams adjust for them. Their offensive numbers in 2015 in the playoffs were league average, but they won because of their defense (they were able to hold the Cavs under 1 point per possession but benefited from Kyrie/Love being injured). In 2016 the Warriors were down 3-1 against OKC for a reason. They should've lost then and there but got bailed out by Klay and their defense (Durant and Westbrook both shot really badly in game 6 and Westbrook in game 7). In 2018, the Rockets counter the Warriors small-ball by switching everything, stopping the motion offense, and leaving Durant to ISO. Even with CP3 injured, the Rockets have to go 0-27 on three's just to lose by single digits to the Warriors.
      To the Warriors credit, they did finish off the 2019 Rockets without KD (although that version of the Rockets was clearly not as good as the 2018 version), they swept the Blazers (albeit the Blazers missing their key center in Nurkic), and were close to forcing a game 7 against the Raptors if Klay didn't get injured. But in no way would 2017, 2018 be guaranteed chips for the Warriors, and the Warriors would still be gassed by 2019. And teams were building to start the KD Warriors, not the 73-9 Warriors. They wouldn't have dominated the 2017 Cavs, 2017 Spurs, 2018 Pelicans, and 2018 Rockets if they didn't have Durant, and if we're being realistic, Curry probably only has one or two rings instead of three if Durant never joins. Sure, they get to keep their insane bench that allowed them to go on that 73-9 run, but come playoff time, Durant offers more than any amount of elite role players you can have on a team.

    Been hearing recently that Dame is the best PG in the league. That ladies and gentlemen is recency bias

    • @leothelion2593
      @leothelion2593 4 года назад +5

      Shaun Katon Been better how though? This is literally a video of Curry out playing him when it matters most, every game. And it isn’t the first time either. Remember back in 2016 when Curry gave him 40 in his first game back from injury in a pivotal game 4? He gave em 29 the game after that, and closed the series 4-1. Dame has never been the better player. Not even close.

    • @leothelion2593
      @leothelion2593 4 года назад +1

      Shaun Katon he conveniently left out CJ who routinely averages 20 plus points and essentially was their best player against the nuggets in last years playoffs, But yes Curry has a better team, he’s the engine that makes it go. We’re talking about a man who is always pushing 40,50,90 on high volume. 2 time MVP, and arguably the greatest offensive season of all time. Dame is a great player, but you’re mistaken if you think he’s better than Steph, analytics disagree with you and their head to head matchups disagree with you as well.

    • @leothelion2593
      @leothelion2593 4 года назад +1

      Shaun Katon You’re making stuff up now, Dame has never in his life given Curry 50. The guy you says shrinks in the 4th put up 17 pts in an OT of a playoff series against Dame, he hit a game winner against the Pels in the playoffs. He hit a GW against Dallas to. He’s had his moments where he could’ve been better, just like every player. That’s true for Dame to, he scored 13 pts in a game 7 against the Nuggets just last year (while CJ Mccullom had 37 and hit the deciding shot) then he proceeded to lay an egg against the warriors. You can’t name a time where he outplayed Curry. He’s 6-1 in the playoffs against him. So what games are you talking about where he made Steph sit down? 🤔 it’s never happened. If so send me the link to the footage, you’re typing in the comment of a video where Steph is as you say “bussing his ass” and i can send you more if you want. Stephs better, to anyone who really watches basketball it’s apparent.

      Shaun Katon So you’re gonna pick and choose one game, instead of a whole series where he could’ve outplayed Curry. What we gon do bout Curry averaging damn near a 30 pt triple double on him? Who revolutionized the game? Was it Dame? No it wasn’t. It was Curry. Curry is a MUCH better shooter than Dame. Dame has NEVER shot over 40% from 3. Curry averages 43% from 3..for his CAREER. He didn't need the finals mvp which he eventually got. But even if he didn't, this series was enough for me. Imagine if klay never got injured though. Closing the last two games against the rockets without KD, sweeping the WCF without KD. And a chance to win the finals with only having Kd for half a game.
