    There were roughly 40 people at the finish line.... Great venue choice, really.

    Small crowds, a course with no spectators out in the barren desert, UCIs decision NOT to show the event live on RUclips in the US.
    Poor decision-making, UCI.

      Think elite men's was sold to the likes of eurosport here in the UK or equiv in the US. Hosting the ride here was a bit stupid though imo.

      The decision to award 2016 hosting to Qatar was taken by Pat McQuaid, former UCI president... a little parting gift to the sport he screwed so badly.

      I see nothing wrong about racing in the desert. Road bike racing should not be exclusive for countries with green forests or hilly environment. And yes, there isn't a big crowd for road racing in Qatar, just like there is no crowd for camel racing in the US. Point here is: Sports take time to integrate in a culture. Hosting the world championship and similar events in Qatar accelerated the integration of cycling in the community of the local and neighbouring region.

      There are never any spectators at the Middle East races. They are a joke. Couple dozen bored wives and girlfriends around the finish line maybe.

    I swear to god, that commentator had no idea who won until they showed the close-up. The split when the leading group formed wasn't shown, neither was the group behind shown chasing. Spectators were expectably completely absent, riders fainted from the heat - even though Cookson claimed otherwise - and if it hadn't been for the wind that might just have been the most boring one day race in modern cycling ever. But still, they could've made a good video out of it but they didn't.

  • @jdavis7561
    @jdavis7561 8 лет назад

    Why did you guys edit out the key moment in the final few hundred meters of the video clip, where Sagan and 'Dish separate with Cav going left and Sagan barely squeezing right toward the fence???
    Leaving that moment in would only add a couple of seconds to the finish. Add it back in please! It makes the finish that much more amazing.

    This bike was really easy to assemble ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.

    UCI should be ashamed of itself. No spectators, and no safety on this course. How long did injured cyclists wait for an ambulance. Moreover, why hasn't the UCI done anything about motorcycle and cars on course - how many cyclists need to get injured or die because the UCI is useless. You are paid to make the big decisions, which includes safety, drugs (TUE's included).
