It's so entertaining to see a true committee comp beat things like Mantine. Like your Skele-Dily-Guzz comp of a GBL Season past, I really enjoy seeing the way this team gels and flips bad matchups or gains energy leads/shield advantages. Definitely want to try it out.
Henry , you deserve a big funding of Niantic, because I got the impression , that it is only a race of star dust. But legendary clips like using Heatran and Furret convinced me, it is not only a matter of maxed Pokémon. I am a bad player , only entering the Ace level , for me at least, but I have now some fun. Good work!
So what do you do against Azumarill or any charmer just insta top left? You have no chance of winning against those pokemon if the oponent shields them. I guess you didn't really see any so you're just taking advantage of current meta so props to you for seeing the pattern.
Vs a charmer or azu, I use an overload strategy. Trusting that even if it takes 2 of my mons to get rid of it, they are often weak to fighting in back. Vs charm on the lead I play 2s with gligar to get it low, then counter down because poli and ape with an energy lead are deadly. Azu is tough, on the lead I'll throw dig, one more wing attack then attempt to catch an ice beam onto poli If it's an azu counterswap into poli safe swap, if I get scald debuff I live a play rough, and can get it low enough that gligar can handle it, setting up ape to close endgame
I'm using this team today and it's a lot of fun but takes a little skill and matchup knowledge. Once I got the hang of it I started going positive but azu is the bane of my existence!
I got Veteran yesterday with Mantine Ape and Lanturn. Would you say this is an ABC team? I’m liking it a lot and hoping to reach Legend for the first time. Thanks
I thought up a similar team: skarm lead, poli and anni in back. I thought of gligar but it seems like the shadow is heavily preferred and I don’t have it. I also don’t have a good shadow poli which bums me out
People will be more prepared for Close Combat at 7 just means you should throw Night Slash. So no harm done. All the video did was made everyone's anxiety went up vs Annihilape
Unfortunately with my current elo I am unable to play ultra league, as no one is queueing that league in 2800s, but I'll see if anyone has submitted battles in ul :)
Henry I’d strongly recommend farming to 8 (shadow ball) before throwing close combat and potentially make a lickitung think you’re stupid and are going for shadow ball
I don't get how S. Gligar can be rank #2 on leads and yet lose every single lead. I don't think anyone is leading the with what Gligar is good against.
Did another set after recording, 4-1 to 2852 elo!
The sauce keeps cooking
I just had a 4-1 with this team
Congrats Homie! Always fun to watch you climb the leaderboards in a new season
If Annihilape ever throws on 7, it’s always in the back of my mind it may be a Close Combat. And I also play that mind game myself against Lickitung 😊
Playing that mind game has gotten me some wins. I do it everytime now lol
Same😂
I run Ape in the UA and whenever I’m against a Dragonite I always throw my night slash on 6😂
@@kyleweldon5088 you’re speaking my language!

This hits, literally. Annihilape is my favorite Pokémon. Really entertaining lol

is there any alternative to shadow poliwrath? I have the other 2 built already, but don't have any shadow poliwags.
One of my discord members ran the regular poliwrath and climbed from 2100s to veteran. Shadow is preferred but normal can still put in work

Was there a charged tm event? ;)
Is using non shadow versions as good? I've been kinda losing 😅
i was thinking about this, should i run it???
Will this team work with normal poliwrath and normal gligar
Normal Poliwrath, sure. Normal Gligar, do your research, the lack of shadow damage is going to make a big difference in some matchups.
I've been running double nuke anihil ape during last seasons catchcup and basically punished trainers with close combat for counting correctly..💀
that's deviousss

What's the advantage of running ns and cc here? i thought prefered moveset was ice punch + shadow ball.
He can charge up to cc faster than shadow ball
I need a GL annihilape now…great video and good luck on legend man 👌
Could you have normal gligar and poliwrath?
People will be more prepared for Close Combat at 7 just means you should throw Night Slash. So no harm done. All the video did was made everyone's anxiety went up vs Annihilape
Do you have a discord server? I thought I heard you talking about it but can’t seem to find a link to it
Oh man that thumbnail goes HARD.
had a rough set and changed the gligar lead to golbat
Too bad I am more interested in UL, any team suggestion with it in UL?
Unfortunately with my current elo I am unable to play ultra league, as no one is queueing that league in 2800s, but I'll see if anyone has submitted battles in ul :)
@@HomeSliceHenry I see. As UL is too unpredictable, unlike the other two leagues. It's more playing it for fun rather than climbing elo.
@@HomeSliceHenrywdym by no one is queueing ul?
You mean literally no is playing ul at 2800 elo?
Yeah there's just no queues in ul where I'm at. I sit in queue and get no matches
No way
Thats crazy 😨
Disclaimer: "If you can't go 3-2 against the world champ, this team might not go as well for you." I mean, trudat!
Is Gligar a good lead? I can't think of many instances where he'd win.
It's super neutral. And the only leads you outright lose and should run from are Dewgong and A-Sandslash
This is gonna be entertaining with close combat as a surprise to throw off opponents off guard
What you do vs alolan ninetal
Lose
Haven't seen one this season, but if it's charm gligar does very well, if it's powder snow then it loses to my fighters
I run abb fairy currently. Dragons are just way too annoying.
Close combat is really satisfying :-D
You would’ve cooked the team I ran into. Saw someone running dubwool snorlax and umbreon
First pokemon I encountered while using this team: mantine 😂 absolute loss..
I show beating mantine leads in the video! It's a team effort but they are often weak to fighting in the back
First 10, I accidentally read the title as I lost 2000 elo and I was so surprised😅😅😅
So this video is why my Azu team suddenly started sweeping whole teams today...
GG brother 🤝🏾
I am building another ape with an attack weight and CC after seeing this
Get that Lickytong out of here
Henry I’d strongly recommend farming to 8 (shadow ball) before throwing close combat and potentially make a lickitung think you’re stupid and are going for shadow ball
Not first
how tf you here before the vid got uploaded? was it member only?
She's my wife :)
LOL u two r awesome

I love you’re content so much I’m finally back after like a year I hope you remembere me
Welcome back!
OH GOD WHY
so you are the reason everyone today is shielding all my close combats... Thank you kkkkk

This trash team doesn't work
