You are correct, these era of tractors are some of the best built machines. All of the fluids have now been changed and they honestly were not that bad.
If you allow me to make a suggestion: Champion D21 spark plugs rather than what you "else" see (Champion D16). I have plugged in the D21's in my FU235 (basically the same engine, but French) and i feel it makes a huge difference. The timing is also crucial, so adjust near the distributor cap if needed. Yes, D21’s are in the plans but had to order them. A hotter burning plug and hotter coil definitely do wonders for these tractors.
