I get what Garnt's going for when he says chewiness. It's not a chew like a stick of gum or fruit snack, but the kind of chew where you feel like you're eating something substantial. It doesn't just break apart or melt away instantly, it's got some longevity to it so you can savor the mouthful a bit before swallowing. I've never had a fish that can replicate that feeling.

Pretty sure what Garnt is talking about is the feeling of biting into a slice of steak and the juices just gush out. Wagyu can't have this because it's so marbled that the meat doesn't just melt into your mouth but also falls appart. There a different satisfying feeling of biting into a juicy piece of steak than there is to letting a piece of wagyu melt in your mouth.

I could do Vegetarian easily, but I love cheese and I don't have the discipline or patience to worry about something being vegan. In terms of Steaks, medium-rare to Medium is okay. Med-rare is preferred, because being cooked further tends to be a little dry, but a medium steak with some char, some spices--some butter, garlic, rosemary, and either peppercorn or crushed clove is frickin' amazing--or a nice sauce can hold up damn well.

I agree with Connor and Joey with the *"meat being too tough when you bite it off",* not even with only steak, I *HATE* meat that's unnecessarily hard to bite, chew and swallow. Mostly because I want to eat it quickly while it's hot. I don't care about taste the intricacies of the meat, just give me the meat so I can bite it, make sure it doesn't taste bad and finish it quickly. Plus almost nobody just eats the meat by itself, you have vegetables, condiments and drinks, I don't want to waste time with just the tough steak when I have more food to also get through.

    • @NoDFX_
      @NoDFX_ Год назад

If you eat mostly meat your body will start using your muscles as a energy source turning you scrawny. A good diet will include about 20%-30% carbs the same amount of protein and the rest fat.
Plus protein poisoning is a thing you don't want to eat to much of it. A balanced diet is key for your health. as well as sunlight, sleep and exercise and sugar makes you exhausted and tired. Not doing any one of these things can make you feel tired and have no energy.
I would look into doing these. also too much blue light can effect your energy as well, and eating a bunch of meat for a temporary solution will effect your health in the long run. you risk cancer, heart problems, and a bunch of other shit.
My dad is 50 and he used to say the same shit. But no he was going to bed at 7am watching TV all night, sleeping all day, getting no sunlight, and only eating meat, he had less energy than my 75 year old grandma who still goes on marathons. He had trouble getting out of bed until i set a bedtime for him, cooked his food, got him to watch less TV, and made him exercise outside. he doesn't have this issue anymore and he doesn't need to eat mostly meat and is very healthy now.
My dad pretty much just ate meat to protest vegans because he hated what they like to eat, would not stop talking about how their stupid. And he is a gigachad based meat enjoy-er.
Just really childish behaviour. It was all obviously an excuse.
Disclaimer medium rare steak is fucking delicious so don't make the argument that I'm just a biased vegan.

    • @timexyemerald6290

@@NoDFX_ 1thing is its not the normal people with normal diet that are protesting against vegans. Its Vegans want to make us stop eating meat. Vegans are the ones who absolutely cannot stand us eating meat. 😅

All the points of Joey and Connor is agreeing that they do not like steak.
No cheweyness, no feeling that you are reaping apart the meat with your teeth like you just hunted that animal yourself!. Also they say no fat?
They even just mention regular lean tuna…not even fatty tuna…but LEAN!
Its okay to like fish than beef, and I like fish but no more than pork. But beef steak does not taste nothing like tuna steak… at all, otherwise why the heck am I ordering tuna and not beef steak?
Point been they hate steak but like tuna in a cut similar to steak.

A vegan diet *can* be more healthy than a regular diet, but generally aren't. Vegan diet is low on some stuff we need that you need to be aware of and conciously make up for (using the few food that have it or as supplements). Most people don't know all the details and end up having issues.
Vegetarian diet is a lot eaiser on this aspect, as I do believe egg and milk(and thus cheese) contain most of those. But if your main concern is eco-friendliness, either go pescatarian(fish is ok) or low meat (like once every one to two week). Then you don't need to about any of that stuff.

It's mind numbing the meat != fish for them because holy shit muscle = meat which means fish is meat.

Connor has the worst takes, never had a burger that tasted like beef either. The texture is always wrong and it always has a slight taste that makes me gag. Everything he said in this vid is basically a bad take. Also, no mention of how expensive Vegan and gluten free is as a massive negative and how vegan food also releases a ton of pollution in the environment. There is no real solution other than saving animals? or allowing them to go extinct because some of the reason these animals are in abundance is cause we breed them for food.

Any steak that doesn’t have a large enough portion size to make you feel full, is a bad steak.

To make good vegan food is either really difficult or really expensive, cause the cheap ingredients taste awful and the good tasting vegan stuff is cost around twice the non vegan stuff and taste only on par. As for veggies they are difficult to prepare so that they taste nice and satisfy as much as meat which is fairly easy to prepare as a main.
As for garnts take. Usually I'm with Connor but this time garnts us right. When he says chewy he doesn't mean rubbery but rather that the meat has a give and pulls aparts while chewing it easily like pulled pork into strands. Whereas fish is flaky and flakes apart wich is a very different experience compared to meat and at least most fish don't provide the experience of meat, definitely not tuna even though it's great as it is

Guiness isn’t vegan OR vegetarian. It’s got fish oil in it.

The logic for plant-based substitution might make sense, but my best experiences are when they are unapologetically vegetarian/vegan
My favourites usually restaurants that ditch replicating meat/dairy, and just get the best taste out of things like vinegar, mushrooms, carrots, tomatoes
