Joey: "Cows literally like Zeus, holding up the world right now." Me: Zeus? Atlas would've been rolling in his grave if he wasn't busy holding up the world right now...
I get what Garnt's going for when he says chewiness. It's not a chew like a stick of gum or fruit snack, but the kind of chew where you feel like you're eating something substantial. It doesn't just break apart or melt away instantly, it's got some longevity to it so you can savor the mouthful a bit before swallowing. I've never had a fish that can replicate that feeling.
I'm with Garnt here. Best thing about a steak is when you bite down and the juices just fill your mouth. A good steak can be chewed easily while still being juicy. You just can't chew fish the same way, no matter how juicy it is.
honestly, i doubt that could sway me. granted so far i've only had mine cooked too much or they put too much pepper on it. you take the good with the bad
I find a lot of people both for and against steak put way too much value in the steak they have eaten. There literally isn’t any steak good or bad enough to sway a person on something this life changing.
Chewing isn't a bad thing if the food keeps releasing flavor, which is what a good steak does. And even though you describe it as chewy, that's just the nature of a steak. It's chewier than tuna but still... Not chewy.
Ive had one that is cooked like a beef steak but theres always that fishy aftertaste. Both of them are right, tunansteak does not have the chew or bite but lean tuna replicates that by being a bit chewy as the inside is technically raw tuna.
Pretty sure what Garnt is talking about is the feeling of biting into a slice of steak and the juices just gush out. Wagyu can't have this because it's so marbled that the meat doesn't just melt into your mouth but also falls appart. There a different satisfying feeling of biting into a juicy piece of steak than there is to letting a piece of wagyu melt in your mouth.
Sometimes I wonder if they've just been in Japan for too long and they've completely forgotten what certain foods taste/feel like outside of Japan. Tuna, whether a steak or not, has nowhere near the texture/mouthfeel of a beef steak 🤦♂️
If i see a "debate" thing on this trash taste highlights, i jump straight watching it because as we all know if these guys debating about something, the results is either wrong for all of them or an abstract answer.
I haven’t watched the podcast in a while but I am astounded by the boys’ capability of coming up with new garbage food takes. From Connor and Joey agreeing that a properly cooked tuna steak can taste like a beef steak to Garnt insisting that the chewiness of a steak is the best part.
@@toasterwaffleowen4709 Something being chewy (definition being that needs longer chewing time than necessary before being swallowed) is an objectively bad quality when it comes to meat. What he meant was toothsome.
Garnt again with the skill issue, the word he was looking for isn't chewy, it's bite. Good steak either melts in your mouth or has a little bite to it, it has bounce when you chew into it.
For Chinese New Year we don't eat meat, buddhist thing, and we go to temples and they usually have a vegan meal for you, usually noodle soup. And the flavor is so good even though it wasnt made with beef or chicken broth.
I could do Vegetarian easily, but I love cheese and I don't have the discipline or patience to worry about something being vegan. In terms of Steaks, medium-rare to Medium is okay. Med-rare is preferred, because being cooked further tends to be a little dry, but a medium steak with some char, some spices--some butter, garlic, rosemary, and either peppercorn or crushed clove is frickin' amazing--or a nice sauce can hold up damn well.
I agree with Connor and Joey with the *"meat being too tough when you bite it off",* not even with only steak, I *HATE* meat that's unnecessarily hard to bite, chew and swallow. Mostly because I want to eat it quickly while it's hot. I don't care about taste the intricacies of the meat, just give me the meat so I can bite it, make sure it doesn't taste bad and finish it quickly. Plus almost nobody just eats the meat by itself, you have vegetables, condiments and drinks, I don't want to waste time with just the tough steak when I have more food to also get through.
@@Ash_Wen-li Yeah but in general I prefer the texture of pork and chicken over cow meat. And I'm not saying they can't have weird textures sometimes, but I encounter less bad textures in pork and chicken than the many times I encounter bad textures with cow.
I've gotta know what cut of steak Joey had and where he had it to make him not like steak. Good steak is from places that dry ages the beef which concentrates the beefy flavour and breaks down muscle fibres making it more tender, good cuts is anything from the rib, loin and sirloin areas.
by the end of it, Garnt won that one, they all agree it isn't like a steak coz tuna one is softer. Garnt wasn't even arguing abt it being better or worse really.

Not doing any one of these things can make you feel tired and have no energy. I would look into doing these. also too much blue light can effect your energy as well, and eating a bunch of meat for a temporary solution will effect your health in the long run. you risk cancer, heart problems, and a bunch of other shit. My dad is 50 and he used to say the same shit. A vegan diet *can* be more healthy than a regular diet, but generally aren't. Vegan diet is low on some stuff we need that you need to be aware of and conciously make up for (using the few food that have it or as supplements). Most people don't know all the details and end up having issues. Vegetarian diet is a lot eaiser on this aspect, as I do believe egg and milk(and thus cheese) contain most of those. But if your main concern is eco-friendliness, either go pescatarian(fish is ok) or low meat (like once every one to two week). Then you don't need to about any of that stuff.
