Painting my Dragon Art Dolls: Light or Darkness? / Sculpted OOAK / BJD Head

- Hi there! Here is something new in a bit visual ASMR vibe. I wanted to bring you guys something very relaxing to watch via a slower, calm and relaxing art footage. In this video I paint my prototype BJD sculpture that I created in a 3D program and then printed in resin. She is a dragon hybrid and I loved sculpting the scales and horns. I also casted the doll eyes in uv resin and then sculpted and painted the details with acrylic paints with some gold and silver details. She will have a complete body eventually, I am still working on sculpting it, it's just I am only one person behind it all and your patience is highly appreciated. I hope you enjoy watching and please let me know in the comments which one is your favourite. :)

(pre eyes and eyelashes) the grey one reminds me of clouds and seafoam/waves. and the white on makes me think of chinese porcelain. both beautiful

This sculpt is absolutely gorgeous! Although it is very hard to choose between the two, I think I lean more towards the lighter one. Are you planning on turning them into complete characters? Because I would absolutely love to see that process and I think others would as well!

As usual your work is unbelievable! thank you so much for sharing. Would this be heavy as traditional resin?
Thank you so much! ❤ It feels a bit lighter to me, but the resin I am using has a lot of pigments and it does feel heavier than other uv resins. I wouldn't suggest to keep a full bjd in printing resin because it is definitely brittle and will snap eventually. For a prototype that would be processed it is good enough.

Colored eyelashes were great idea! I think dark one got me more interested mostly because of those red eyelashes. They reminded me of the color scheme I was going for on some random fantasy race I made up :D
They turned out absolutely lovely! I especially like the metallic detailing on the scales.
Are you planning on selling any of these? Because I'd be in line saying "shut up and take my money" if so haha :D I have ideas for fantasy characters and am Very Inspired by this sculpt!

They’re both beautiful! Love how the lighter one has opal like tones and reminds me of stars, but I’m obsessed with the darker one! The colors remind me of the moon or an eclipse.

Man, so hard to choose, but...I have to be the contrarian here and say I prefer the light colored head. I prefer gold and warm tones, and the lighter base color makes all of those marvelous details that you worked so hard on much easier to see. I will say, I prefer the eyes with the dark sclera, however, and think it would look great on either of them. Both are very beautiful! Such delicate features. Very cold and regal. I definitely dig it!

I know making a custom head was difficult but I'm hoping you'll be able to make the body for the heads to fit in the future, but even if you don't its okay because I still love them and they're already so beautiful on their own~☆

Thank you, I really appreciate that. ❤ I use high flow and model paints. They are designed for minis and to keep high detail of the sculpts.

Honestly it doesn't look white, it kinda look like purple but pretty white.
It is difficult to prime in white, applying too much will dull the details on such scale. 😅
Darker resin material makes the sanding easier but overall I chose that to check how the prototype looks before casting.
I cannot decide which one I like better! both together is best I think hahah. I really like the eye choice for both, they are stunning with the colors you chose!
