I love how Zeon had so many Amphibious MS because they thought the Federation would fight back using the same mean when in reality, all they did was use things like the Escargot to bomb the waters from the sky
I think I found another reason why Zeon lost the OYW: Zeon head vulcan calibers: 30mm, 40mm, 50mm, 60mm, 70mm, 105mm Feddie head vulcan calibers: 60mm Zeon machine gun calibers: 35mm, 75mm, 85mm, 90mm, 105mm, 110mm, 120mm (two different types, with ammo not being interchangeable) Feddie machine gun calibers: 90mm, 100mm Zeon bazooka calibers: 280mm, 290mm, 360mm (three different types, with ammo not being interchangeable), 380mm, 880mm Feddie bazooka calibers: 280mm
@@anirudhsudarsan946 The United Maintenance Plan is literally the only thing M'quve did right. It resulted in not only the best mobile suits of the OYW (may of which remained competetive years later), but also significantly improved Zeon's logistics situation. Too little, too late though.
Keep up the good work, I love your videos about marine mobile suits, I would be very cool if you could make more videos about obscure, underrated mobile suits!
i really love the Hydro Test Type and wish it has a lot more media and was made into a proper battlefield use MS as i realty like its design. love the massive Vulcan forearms those are really cool. It would be neat to have seen a space use version as i think its humanoid design could have simply been adapted as a "Zaku Heavyarms" kinda like the Gouf C-3 or something similar but with a simplified design. it would have be a perfect for a Thunderbolt redesign as well seems to have brought out some really obscure OYW designs and made them relevant again such as the Braw Bro that Daryl hijacks.
Kinda surprised thunderbolt didn't use the hydro seems right up there, alley. Its wrist weapon is neat, and we don't see another ms like that if I recall it has a unique shape to it.
That's not a bump stock, a bump stock is a device that makes a semi auto firearm kind of auto using the recoil, that's just a stock or shoulder stock. Also that is not how vulcan (rotory cannons) work, a 6 barreled vulkcan only fires out of 1 barrel at a time, each barrel rotates into line with the chamber and fires and then the next barrel rotates into line and it fires again, it decreases heat build up across 6 barrels instead of just one so it can have a much higher rate of fire but it still only has one chamber, breach etc, it doesn't fire through all 6 barrels at once.
did not know that bout stocks thx. The aqua types guns are called vulcans in multiple sources we dont have a x ray of them so they could be multi barrels in each of those barrels or the naming is wrong also doesnt help that it never appears in anything so we cant see it in action
@@slothcakes Yup, they got the name Vulcan from the M61 Vulcan that the US uses on most of it's fighter aircraft and a few AFV etc but that is a very secific gun, kind of new when the first Gundam series came out so I think they used Vulcan to mean a rotary cannon, any rotary cannon of any caliber, but a Vulcan is specifically the 20mm M61, it would be like seeing an F-22 Raptor but then calling every other plane Raptor as well if that makes sense. If it says 6 Vulcans per arm then it's 6 clusters of multi barreled guns per arm, if it says 6 barreled Vulcan per arm then they mean 1 rotary cannon with 6 barrels per arm. The sizing is very strange as well, a 30mm Rotary cannon( the A-10' GAU-8 Avenger cannon) is 21 feet long, a 60mm rotary cannon would be giant, like no way you could get 2 in a Gundam size MS's head so yeah actually knowing what they mean is kind of hard to work out lol.
Naming conventions for weapons always become a mess in sci-fi, I give them an A for effort at least. Can't blame them Vulcan sounds cool and at the end that's truly what matters, also that's a very good way of describing it, that's a lot of barrels,
Hope I’m not too late before part 2, but found a couple of tidbits you might be interested to add: -The MS Igloo manga had some additional test units that didn’t appear in the anime, including an underwater beam cannon, the QEX-04M Aegir, which required a MSM-01 to operate. The wikia has a picture of it with the Zaku. -The manual of the HG RMS-192 Zaku Mariner has some very interesting information: according to it, that unit is based on the M-1 version of the Zaku Marine Type, while the MSM-01 we are familiar with is based on a M-2 type. More specifically, it says that the EF captured and used both designs, with the M-1 based units at Dakar and the M-2 units at Nueva Guinea. The later would be the “Marine Hizack” we see in Zeta during the Hong Kong ark. These are supposedly Hizack frames with MSM-01 exteriors.
Thank you for the info i already know about the marine hizak but i didnt know about the aegir, seemed to slip my radar and mind. have to do some last min edits to mention it,. I think most ppl including me forget about ms igloos existence thanks for the infomation
Maybe the msm 02 uses The 90mm machine gun, you did say it would be reasonable that it’s a little bit smaller than the zaku machine gun which is 120mm. Do you think I’m right?
yeah that sounds good, I want to believe its smaller than a zaku MG so 90mm seems right. other than that it could be the 105mm found on things like the acguys head vulcans.
@@eugeniawelch3646 all those are reasonable answers and there is a chance zeon made a different caliber for this since zeon loves making things convoluted for no reason lol
