I was at that parade of shops at the junction of Thorpe Lane and Middleton Park Avenue just yesterday. Pretty mental how despite how 23 years have passed, everything in this video looks the same as it does now!

I lived in Miggy from '55 to '68. At 1:14 is that St Philips Church and the Middleton Arms? I was in the area a few years go to find both had been obliterated. Where I lived from 63-88 (Southcroft Drive) has also disappeared. They keep demolishing places I lived or frequented. I wonder if they're trying to drop a hint.
I recently read some books by Keith Waterhouse, and he lived in the area. He mentions the "Murder Woods" - a murder had taken place in the Middleton Park woods adjacent to the Ring Road. The tram (12?) used to run through the woods and pop out down Dewsbury road quite close to the city centre. It was a wonderful journey. Unless you got murdered.

Yes they were St Philips Church and the Middleton Arms. A school as been built where St Philips were and a Aldi where the Middleton Arms were and the book you read by Keith Waterhouse wasn't called "There is a happy land" as I have the full film on my channel..
