I thank you for this sermon in the Psalms which is my most favorite book. I really enjoyed the different examples you gave which were really good. I hope to listen to them all.
Great intro sermon. Looking forward to the whole series. Book One actually starts with the Psalm Chapter 3. Yes, I do want one of those Psalms shirts 😇
Book 1 will start with 2 psalms 1 and 2 on the blessed man.... it also ends in Psalm 40 41 where we have the blessed but poor man. Jesus takes on our sin with problems more than the hairs on his head because of sin and is even rejected by the anti-friend, (aka Judas) a blessed but 'poor man' and isn't that strange, most references to the poor man in Psalms refers to Jesus.
Agreed Equally loving and just is essential, unfortunately the western bride has lost her radiance and beauty due to the one sidedness of the easybelifism teaching, that teaching has been to prevelent in the Western church for several decades now, and in my lay opinion has done more damage to the Western church than the prosperity gospel and word of faith gospel combined. Many have been added that are not actually saved, even unto millions of church attenders that have been falsley lead to believe that they are christain. The western bride is looking very shabby indeed. Maybe that is a normal trajectory in history, those whom should know and be close 2 God as prosperity grows, then wander away. The test becomes what is of most value to oneself, if maintaining our christain faith causes us ultimate loss, would we maintain that faith. For us, persecution for faith is mostly just a hypothetical senereo, but for many in some parts of the world, that its almost an enevitability is without question, and thus that faith has a cost results in a church composed of the truly saved. The teaching that our faith is all get and no cost, would attract almost anyone to join and proclaim themselves christain, and has, but it is not biblical, as it's been said, I will not offer a sacrifice that cost me nothing. I can think of few if any verses more sad than hearing, go away for I never knew you, truly devastating. It would likely be better to know one is not saved, than to misbelieve and hear that. Not trying to be legalistic or judge whom is saved, but am concerned that the western bride has lost her former glory, and am thinking that God is not pleased about it, and I for one would love her to radiate the beauty that is meant 2b hers. Hopefully Village and other remnant bodies can bring it about.
