8 years of ANXIETY caused by MOLD TOXICITY!

  • My story of how I discovered that Mold was the cause of 8 years of Anxiety!
    My symptoms were:
    Unexplained Anxiety - to the point of freezing up / overwhelming dread and racing thoughts
    Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
    Intrusive thoughts
    Insomnia
    OCD
    ADHD
    Chemical sensitivity (bleach, diesel, perfume)
    Noise sensitivity
    Brain fog
    Confusion
    Irritability
    Panic attacks
    No drive
    Metallic taste in mouth
    Rashes
    Joint stiffness
    Pins and needles
    Tinnitus
    Vertigo
    Blurry vision
    Food intolerances
    Bloating
    Weight gain
    Blocked nose
    If you have similar symptoms and can't attribute it to anything else, please look into your environment and definitely get an allergy test.
    I tried everything from exercise, nutrition, meditation, sleep studies, etc.
    Meditation worked for me in the past but due to deep breathing in the mycotoxins, it didn't work this time and actually made my symptoms worse.
    My symptoms improved massively since getting away from the mold.
    To sum it up, my nervous system was under chronic stress from the toxin so it learnt to be in a constant state of survival so now it's about detoxing and rewiring my brain so it can feel safe again now that I'm out of the environment that was causing my limbic system to be on high alert.

    Thank you for this video. My anxiety has been so bad the past 4 years.i moved to a flat in germany and my mental health got so bad. Brain fog like I've never experienced..after watching this video I went to my kitchen and sure enough my sink has been leaking and there is mold everywhere! This could be the cause of my severe anxiety.

      Yes cold damp homes are the worst.
      Yes you helped me more than you could know, If I hadn't had a medical background and seeing Lyme Disease literate Naturopaths, who immediately ran that blood test and found the "off the charts" mycotoxin -
      I had found a towel under the washing machine and it was covered in black mold that was easily thrown out, I started with nausea and rashes and learned the symptoms of this - I would have been even more terrified.
      I'm now stuck in that
      "Terrified" situation.
      I can't even call my Lyme Literate physicians.
      Thanks for sharing your story, it helps me know I'm not alone in this.

    I just finally moved out of my boat and no more cold sweats at night. Things got really bad with my anxiety and anxiety attacks, sometimes I didn't have anything to worry about and it still happened. I even got alopecia, but not certain if it was from black mold. The amount I would forget things or just freeze in midthought was very worrying to me. Hopefully now I can start to recover, I know it's still lingering inside me, I was exposed for a very long time, especially the last two years. Still get tired but not always. Just want to add this was the first time in my life I thought about suicide, I was always depressed and would cry just out of nowhere. The exposure was severe because I work from home. Really gets you to question how much of our thoughts are really ours. Great video, thanks.

    Mold can cause vitamin deficiencies in the body. The ones to watch are vitamin D3, magnesium, zinc, coenzyme Q10, and B vitamins. Because of an auto-immune response, the body requires more and more of these vitamins and minerals to function. I think that is what is happening in people and why they become sick from mold.

      I have been living in a house that has had mold for at least 6 years now. Paying a lot to get it treated this week. I am hoping that I start to feel better. I have found that magnesium lotion (as well as taking magnesium orally every other day) is helping with my anxiety and mental issues. I was able to manage 7 hours of straight sleep a few nights ago for the first time in years.

      Hi there, I'm sorry to hear that, it's not an easy thing to deal with and the process of overcoming it can be just as daunting. But I'm happy you have finally found a path that will hopefully get you better and things will get better, since moving I have improved so much. I'm about 90 precent there and can feel how far I've come. I recommended looking at the surviving mold website along with doing a VCS test if you haven't already. As for chemical sensitivity, I listed them in the description. Deodorant, nail polish, diesel, bleach and tea tree oil. The tea tree oil is very good for neutralizing the mycotoxins if you're able to handle it. I had a lot of food sensitivities also, I went gluten free for 12 weeks and did an elimination diet to stop inflammation to help myself heal. I would look into DNRS too, often after our bodies have been exposed to mold for lengthy times, it takes a toll on our limbic system and our nervous system can be set off so easily, so it helps to retrain your mind. But first thing first is, move if possible. Take a sabbatical to a mold free place and see if you improve. Getting into a clean environment is most important. There's a lot of good support groups on Facebook also!

    • @tom_quinlan
      @tom_quinlan  Год назад +4

      I do plan on making a follow up video, it's hard to get the time but some day! basically had every ocd symptom, but they more or less went away then when I was away from mold I would get relief from them, if I was in the house with mold, it would come all straight back. then as I detoxed more and more, they gradually went fully. some were still residual habits I then had to break as after years, they do become hard wired. It was easier implement an ERP strategy when I was more detoxed, which wouldn't of worked if I was in mold as my nervous system was basically on fire as mold is neurotoxic. I'm great these days and I came from severe ocd. it's 2 years since I started detoxing and would say my anxiety is at near 0 these days (most the time).

    • @tom_quinlan
      @tom_quinlan  2 года назад +5

      Hey man thanks for your nice comment. I'm glad you got some value from it. So firstly, I'd get out of mold as soon as possible. Then give yourself time, it took me 8-9 months and I feel like I'm definitely detoxing now. Which is funny cause the first time I unknowingly started to detox and feel better after getting away from mold was 8-9 months too. But even once I moved, I did feel much better. It's a process. You'll start to have more good days than bad and eventually you'll feel better and better. I recommend vitamin D and NAC.. (maybe research the NAC first as I'm not a doctor) they are game changers for me personally as far as my sleeping and anxiety go. Another symptom was I didn't sweat much which is common for people with mold toxicity. So the NAC I feel is helping me sweat more, still not much but progress and saunas as well. Give time time. I feel so much better now, life is really good again and have come so far from where I had been. How are you doing now? Hopefully much better.

      Hey man, no not there anymore. yeah, it really impacts your nervous system unfortunately. I really recommend the facebook group Toxic Mold Support Group. Lots of knowledge there for getting free of it and managing it. It will be freeing to know your OCD isn't you, and a by product of the mold symptoms so try your best to dismiss the thoughts as it's your reaction that is fueling them and you're already in a heightened anxious state so it becomes a vicious cycle. My anxiety is at near 0 these days, it's 2 years since I started detoxing and would say I'm in the clear, but really went all out in getting free from the mold. definitely have some residual trauma from it though. All I can say is, It will get better, but it'll be a slow process. be kind to yourself, and make a plan to get out of the mold asap.

Your comment nearly brought me to tears because over the past couple years I’ve suffered with anxiety, phobias and more recently harm ocd- while I’m naturally an overthinker, I NEVER experienced anxiety to the point of being a disorder and certainly not harm ocd. • @tom_quinlan
      @tom_quinlan  6 месяцев назад +2

      Careful. if it's chemicals, I wouldn't use them. most chemicals cause a reaction and the Mold will throw out mycotoxins even more aggressively as a defence mechanism and it'll sink further back into the wall to protect itself. what I've heard is to use dawn dish soap, as the texture will grab the toxins up and it's chemical free. not sure if that applies to all dish soap.
      Bleach is the absolute worst so don't use that.
      Often times as well, people who have mold toxicity have a chemical sensitivity so it's like fuel to a fire.
      I detoxed naturally over time, saunas helped, vitamin D, and NAC helped the most. Avoidance is the best method.
