Correct .
Nwo revolutionised the business.
That big that they helped destroy WCW...

what you want to say literally whole company was nwo lol eithr black white or red
AGREED
Scott’s passing stings more than the others …everyone saw scott in a way he couldn’t see himself . One of the smartest ,good looking guys in the business who self destructed . It all could’ve been so much different for him and I think that’s what bothers me the most. We miss you Chico . 💔
Totally agree. He had the look, size, in ring ability, promo skills, and charisma to be a top tier performer. The really sad thing is that he just got his life in order and looked much more relaxed and happier than he ever had. The wrestling business is really difficult on the performers and it takes a toll mentally and physically on them.
@@joeraptor1 well said ! the saddest part about it was hearing that he relapsed during the pandemic . A lot of people around the world did . Quarantine took a toll on a lot of peoples mental health . Poor Scott 💔
@@wwedxecw It certainly has. It's not natural for humans to be isolated as we have been during the pandemic.

I've been struggling to find the words and you've hit it perfectly. I've been planning on meeting him when he was making his appearance in Texas and was handcrafting a gift for him & a card reminding him of how timeless and cool he is.

Awesome, Scott was amazing and very good!!! We will all miss him!!!
And so the Monday Night War was born.💪
Great minds think alike
DX wasn't bigger than the NWO lol.
Ric has seen 90% of the men he worked with pass away. I'm sure it weighs on him, losing so many as he is still here.
I would say with the Iron Sheik too. Most of their peers are gone.
@@LionHeart09 Hogan & Backlund still doing ok. RIP Scott Hall. Talented guy.
SO TRUE
@@unquietnights backlund reminds me off the gollum guy from lord of the rings lol
D Wade ... exactly in fact Flair and Hogan seem to be the last big name wrestling from the early years. Its a small group at this point.
Flair is hurting during this podcast to just get through it. God bless you Ric and Scott.
Thank God Flair's quit drinking but that can change. Scott was sober until covid hit and then fell broke his hip wasn't found for a few days. Luckily DDP checked up on him and found him. Just sad news though. You can tell Flair's scared about his own mortality because he's come close a bunch of times recently.
It must be difficult watching so many guys younger than him go. They're older guys, but part of him probably still sees them as young kids.
@@SPAZZYok I thank God that DDP found him, and got him to a hosp. that his family could come in and his brothers and loved ones could be there when he transitioned from this earthly plane.....means so much.

Yeah I thought that was an odd choice. I like DX more, but I know nwo which was bigger. I'd have mentioned Austin vs McMahon as it's the only angle I can think if that could be bigger.
@@josephflannery9015
DX dont exist without NWO. Suck it Hunter.
Almost as funny as calling himself original as the Nature Boy.
You can see Flair is really cut up about Scott's passing, It brings the mortality of these larger than life characters home.

Scott hated Flair.
Didnt flar have alot of heat with scott?
It’ll never be the same without Scott. So fucking sad man 💔
FACTS
"Ric Flair no-sells the nWo" is probably the better title for this video.
Yeah, dont know why Mark asked Ric all those nWo questions lol, most people know his thoughts on the subject by now
He was right about NWO adding too many people to it. For example it didn't make any freakin' sense that they spend countless night beating up Macho Man and suddenly he's a member 😅 they also added a bunch of no names which devalued the whole thing. It was an "elite only" group in the beginning.
Flair doesn’t really like putting the nWo over in interviews. To say DX was the better angle is just ridiculous.
Yeah seriously, DX? Cmon man. NWO was the best angle ever. I disagree with keeping it at 5 members too. It needed to grow to be a real threat to the WCW roster. The in-fighting seemed realistic as well. I think they caught lightning in a bottle and WWE just came out with better angles overall and caught back up.
@@Coriander986 no it was stupid and an old gimmick when macho man joined.
“Can i be in the nwo?” Flair in 96-97
“No” Eric Bischoff
“Dx was the best angle not the nwo” - flair in 2022
Exactly
Yeah NWO had a bigger impact then DX but I believe the Austin/McMahon feud made the most money and highest ratings.
@@mattcaporuscio6956 okay but austin and McMahon or the Monday night wars have nothing to do with this. It’s about how fake Ric flair is. He’s only saying this because he’s obsessed with triple h
Does flair not know what an angle is? Was he just drunk 24/7?
@@secularbelt yeah dx wasn't an angle it was a faction. So i don't get that one its just to bring up triple H

Growing up watching Hulk, I lost sleep that night he turned. That's how good it was.
@@MrCliffda3rd yep Hogan shock the world when he join the NWO/The Outsiders Scott Hall and Kevin Nash
Survey says: NWO best wrestling angle of all time
@Jason O'Daniel Lemme see, the greatest heel turn with Hulk Hogan, putting WCW number one on TV for 83 weeks, selling millions of dollars in NWO merchandise which is still selling today and temporarily putting the company ahead of WWF. Go back to smoking your doobie and check yourself in while you're at it.
RIP to the bad guy and if anyone wants insight on him, read HBK’s first book, he talks about how talented he was and how great of a mind he had for the business and yet he would constantly doubt himself and needed constant affirmations
I started reading his book 2 weeks ago and got heavy into wrestling in January when Scott became an instant favorite. I'd see how much it meant to him when another would acknowledge his skill & love for the sport.
He couldn’t believe it when The Rock told him he was one of the wrestlers he studied inside the ring. He underestimated himself and never considered himself to be one of the best in the ring. But, his matches when you look back, had a very unique feel to them. He was special.
DX the biggest angle???? (stone cold voice) What???
Yeah I have to disagree with him very much there. I know Ric has a lot of personal feelings with the N.W.O. angle but DX really wasn’t an angle it was just a faction in to drive the point home even more that the N.W.O. really is the best angle of all time, there would be no DX if it wasn’t for the N.W.O.. I have nothing but respect for Ric Flair and I’m a huge fan of his but in no way was there ever anything that DX did that was as big as the N.W.O..
The NWO would not have been has big without Hogan turning heel and joining.
That’s also why it died when hogan turned baby face
I always thought NWO was way bigger than DX

I think Flair should just start makin videos about all of his Wrestling stories
Behind the scenes and about matches with videos and photos
Stories about traveling and about wrestlers before he passes
He has knowledge that needs to be made public
RIP bad guy
Crazy how Flair is still alive at 73 and Hogan at 68, when most others have died before 65, like Hall. When one of those two dies it will be a true milestone of the end of an era.
I always thought Flair and Hall had a lot of heat with each other, even in recent years. Hopefully they buried the hatchet before Hall passed.
Ric is a very two faced person, he's nice to every one face to face but behind there back he talks shit
They did. Hall had a problem with him taking a title from one organization to another.
First time I saw Scott Hall was when he was working as a tag-team with Danny Spivey known as "American Starship" in Jim Crockett Promotions in late 84/early 85. Condolences!
Hennig was a world champ, as was Rude, and Razor Ramon. There were more world titles then
just the WWF and WCW titles back in the day. Razor held the USWA Unified World title, and the WWC Universal title.
Sadly, mainstream fans only care about WWF and WCW. Not the smaller promotions.
Met Scott in Montreal...not the bad guy..but a nice guy
He's seen them come he's seen them go. Another reason Ric Flair is the greatest wrestler outside of Jacob in the Bible to ever live.
RIP Scott, best wrestler to never win the world title.
Highly debatable.
Curt Hennig but saying that does the AWA title really mean what the WCW and WWF did? if so then Hennig did it, but he reminded me of Razor he did jobs for everyone and he was in my eyes the finest wrestler to lace the boots and insanely not be pushed as WWF champion for even one run..I understand views will differ is there any wrestlers other fans think should of had the opportunity to be the world champion?
@@billy4892 Curt Hennig is definitely one of the wrestlers who should have won a world title.

I’ve been watching Ric for over 40 years and still think he’s the best of the best💪🏽 Wooo! Rip to Scott Hall I know its a hard pill to swallow when someone goes down that road.
RIP Scott Hall 1958-2022
Poor Mark. He tried getting something outta Ric but he was not getting much lol
Didn't Flair absolutely trash Scott Hall in his autobiography. "When people called Scott Hall 'great' they lowered the bar ten feet". I always thought that was a classless thing to say and when I see people that spent years trashing the guy, suddenly popping up saying how fantastic he was, it makes me think 'If you can't say anything nice when they are alive, keep quiet when they are gone'
RIP Scott Hall. A true great.
Hall said Bret hated him too. So seeing Bret going on Twitter calling him "my friend" seemed suspect.
Ric- starts making a point
Mark- Starts screaming in mid day radio voice to cut him off
Naitch?
There is no way on God's Green Earth that DX was a bigger storyline/angle than the nWo
They were a juvenile lame ripoff
Naitch here sounds a little bitter the nWo took the Horsemen's spot as the greatest faction ever
Thanks for this Ric!! Glad to hear your thoughts and memories of the great and iconic Scott Hall!!! AY Y0!!!!
Flair is losing his ming in old age. DX... really? They werent even the hottest thing in WWF.
A really embarrassing WWE pushed narrative that they could even compare to the NWO.
It wasn't even an angle DX. The NWO angle was the question as in the invasion of the outsiders and then Hogan being the suprise 3rd member that was an angle but DX wasn't, it was just a faction that evolved as it went along
Ming Dynasty.
"Bad times don't last but bad guys do"
Ric...saying dx?? Come on bro lol
It's amazing how Hall is a 2x HOF and is still considered underrated. That's how great he is, not was, is. RUclips and the network keeps him and others alive
He was never awarded a world title while David Arquette and Vince Russo had been. It seemed unfair.
@@Chupacvabra the time to push hall was after starcade 97. Hall vs sting for the title and Hogan prevents hall from winning by interfaring. Sets up halls wolfpack vs black and white. But it came down to timing and horrible WCW booking. By late 98 Hall was in real life self destructive and never the same
Flair is thinking hard on his own mortality
well he is pushing 75
“Every gimmick except the nature boy”
Lmao ric you literally stole your entire gimmick off buddy Rodgers, what are you talking about?
you are right about that
I was gonna comment similar too but tbf i think he was joking to lighten the mood, its clear to see he's very choked up and hurting from the news that only broke hours before this recording
"Would it have worked without Hogan?" No... and here's why. The reason they were rolling without Hogan, was because Hogan was not around. Had he not turned they would have been built up as heels to be fed to Hogan and Savage. Just a more modern Dungeon of Doom.
Totally agree 💯
Certain people strike a chord in peoples lives, Scott was definitely one of the special ones. He will definitely is missed! Rest in piece my friend
I don't think any other angle comes close to the nwo.
Ric is just bitter he wasn't in it
Scott Hall was one of the greatest to ever do it. He will be missed.
Underrated worker and great pacing in his matches.
Scott Hall had 1 of the basic qualities that Flair had, that other guys like Nash and Hogan did not. They would go out and do a job to any-fucking-body. Anytime. Anywhere. And they would do it because they understood that that’s what it took, and because they had what it took. And when it was over they never lost any heat. They could do the job because they were good enough to do the job. Hogan and Nash were not. The idea of being to good to do a job is backwards. You’re not to good to do a job, you’re good enough to do a job. Hall was. He was the only guy to go out and lose to Sting the first time, the right way. He was also who lost to the Steiners when in was time at Souled Out. He was who did the jobs to the top face and top tag team face. Then he did it again vs Goldberg in 1998 when Hogan couldn’t do it alone I guess. Hall was a GOAT.
Scott has repeated said how he didn’t to win to get over, reason he never held the title he didn’t need it, To him it was about the business. I agree with you on hogan, but when Nash left for WCW he let a couple guys get over on him on the way out. I think he would when it made sense.
Hogan was right to protect his spot...his appeal was based on him being the unbeatable babyface or heel.
@@johnhagner8113 he just hadn’t learned how to weasel out of it quite yet. Plus Vince was a lot better at getting guys to do business.
@@tafariali-alkebulan3325 huh
@@tafariali-alkebulan3325 Hogan didn't need to lose much, but there are clear times he should have but didn't, whether it was him or the office- Macho Man and Bret Hart come to mind.
WCW's established stars like Flair and Savage and Hogan were drawing big ratings in early 1996, and the nWo needed these stars to be at the top of their game as they (Outsiders) dismantled and reshaped the business. So Flair played a huge Sting-like role in the development of the nWo. Asking Ric Flair if the nWo is the biggest angle ever, considering he is part of the most legendary stable ever is a weird position to put him in. Flair was there from the beginning and there when the nWo died in WCW.
It feels like Ric has a tough time giving Scott Hall kudos for his accomplishments. Or maybe Scott's death just got to him.
Ric has been pretty vocal on his dislike of the nwo gimmick
Ric knows he's on borrowed time himself. I think Ric respects Scott's gimmick, but he won't give him his flowers because they had heat when they were in WCW.
Ric respected and didn't want to break kay·fabe. Ric wanted to continue the tradition of the golden age of the business, but the company under Bischoff want to break from that in order to compete with Vince.
No way. If Hogan STAYED good, the crowd woulda hated him even more.

Cmon Natch. The NWO angle was way bigger than DX. The main thing that saved WWF was the Austin - McMahon angle.
Flair has always hated on the nWo. He wasn't really involved in the main storylines durning their run and I think he might be a little salty about that. Hogan made the nWo interesting. When he wasn’t on TV during his Hollywood run, ratings would drop,m. Facts I lived it
NWO without Hogan is a Hotdog without the bun.
Hogan was a terrible bad guy, it would've better if Sting turned heel and joined only for it to be a swerve to infiltrate and destroy the NwO from within.
Glad you don’t have a clue, you didn’t live anything punk.
@@30907bng Sting is like Steamboat, he never could be a believable heel. When they tried turning him heel (once in wCW and once with TNA) fans never bought it.
