Kit, as always a great discussion here. Roderick and I talked about this on our livestream last Saturday a little bit. It has also come up extensively in my classes with my students. Yes, it is getting better at synthesis and prediction (even down to the character level now) but there are real risks. I do use it, but usually only to enhance what I am already doing, not to create all new things.
I find it to be a novelty at the current stage. It is helpful to enhance my work projects. It still needs our input, it is nice too to do further deep dive searches with. I also use it to enhance photos I have taken throughout the years and create a mood.
Yeah, AI photo tools are pretty invaluable. I use generative fill all the time! And yeah, for search it can be really wizz. Have you played with Notebook LM yet?
Yes, some pretty advanced “party room” tricks. Its ability to take written text and turn it into a podcast format is pretty cool. But as you say Kit the speed of its predictive replies are helpful.
I love how you boiled it down but I can’t help but think of Move 37 from the famous Go game where AI beat the world champion a few years back. Move 37 was completely left field and not based on any moves previously made but it was a decisive move that opened the door to winning. I wish understanding AI was as binary as its derivative versus our human creative. As a creative person myself I’m still understanding and defining what my new angle will be in what’s to come.
Read Irreducible from Federico Faggin. He strikes a death blow on AI in his book, which is line of what you say. To paraphrase: intelligence comes from consciousness. Consciousness does not seem to be an classical-reality input output process, but a more an emerging property of reality/quantum systems. Computer chips deal with electrons and input/output and not with more fundamental levels of reality. Therefore, computers, as we build them, will never be intelligent. Federico is no one but the inventor of the microchip we all use today in one way or another.
Logic, in a sense, is a generative process: predicates inevitably lead to conclusions, generating output strictly from input, much like AI. Creativity, however, is inherently chaotic-unpredictable to an uninformed observer-yet still harmonious. Currently, AI is not only highly predictive (logical) but also imperfect (chaotic to naive observers), introducing elements of unpredictability that, in turn, can give rise to creativity. Upon further reflection, isn’t the creative process-with its moments of 'oh!' and 'ah!'-essentially a reaction to surprise and unexpected and inexplicable revelations? At its core, isn’t it just a response to incomplete information? I wonder if, from God's perspective, anyone could truly be considered 'creative' in the absolute sense. I think not, because God knows everything, and true creativity, as we experience it, arises from the limitations of our own knowledge.
A Quantum Chip with A.I. is to some degree comparable to a physical brain yet not sentient, however, we shall see a sentient form of A.I. incorporated into a material form when that image is entered by the spirit of antichrist. Revelation 13:14-15 14 And he deceives those who live on the earth because of the signs which it was given him to perform in the presence of the beast _[The Antichrist],_ telling those who live on the earth to make *_an image to the beast [Antichrist]_* who had the wound of the sword and has come to life. 15 And it was given to him to give breath _[LIFE]_ to the image of the beast _[The Antichrist],_ so that the image of the beast _[The Antichrist]_ would even speak and cause all who do not worship the image of the beast to be killed. A.I. in its current _child-like_ form is benign and really quite helpful, but in its adult state empowered by quantum computing and having become sentient, will be used to forward an agenda laid-out long ago, whom the Lord Jesus shall thwart at His appearing. 2 Thessalonians 2:8 Then that lawless one _[The Antichrist]_ will be revealed, whom the Lord will eliminate with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;

@KitBetts-Masters no I have not I will check it out thanks for the suggestion.
@@KitBetts-MastersI used NotebookLM and shared my experience on Patreon. Roderick and I also talked about it on our recent livestream.

Absolutely fascinating. Thanks so much for sharing your insight!
Interesting video Kit. Would love to see more from you on AI.
Cheers, yeah, I've got some more in the pipeline!
Love your take! Great video once again. ❤
Thanks much for commenting! :-)
I just can't wait for my Kindle Scribe to understand my cursive.
Hand through hair at 0:52 😂

Thanks so much for this, I'll put it on my Christmas list!
