my take on it is this, Team USA still represents the national team. Every 4 years the WNBA gets involved, because they let the pros in. Clark and Brink both should be on that team. They've worn that uniform for years. Imagine being on Team USA and winning gold for U19 and then when you break the all time scoring record, you're not good enough.

When people throw hate, she throws back kindness. She spends time before and after games signing autographs for little kids. It's not a black and white thing. Hannah Stulke, a black girl who plays for Iowa, has the same niceness. Its a small to mid-size midwest thing. We all get along. We all care for each other. Caitlin has that, plus the talent. Huge FLOP... Imagine what could have been... not only does Caitlin bring in a substantial amount of attention and views, the biggest PR problem the WNBA has right now is that the other players are "jealous" or "petty"... I can't think of a better marketing strategy then to put her on this team with the OG's, the best! Have them be UNITED, as ONE, bonding in Paris, working together towards one goal. Women supporting women. They could run so far with it... Winning another gold, but this time have all the hype they've been missing! Our Olympic team DOMINATES. But do you see them on cereal boxes afterward?? Are they getting the big endorsements that other Olympic athletes get?? No.. because they don't get the views or revenue!!
I know Caitlin isn't sweating it, and the team will still win, but damn.. the ppl making these decisions are soooo dumb. No wonder they've failed for 20 years. They have talent. They just refuse to run it like a business smh...

The WNBA is a perfect illustration of the difference between men and women. Women are led by emotion and quite frankly, irrationality. It’s their defining characteristics. Men, in the normal sphere, are led more by logic and rationality, making them more natural leaders. These WNBA women and feminists, although plenty butch, are fighting their own nature. That’s why they’re all miserable. However, even the most stoic of men can lose it when pushed and for me, that’s when my wife steps in and checks me and brings me down before I get stupid. That is so valuable to me and I protect her, love her, respect her. All these players, heck most of today’s youth are narcissists. Watch me too. I’m a good player. Kids don’t realize we were designed to be happiest when selflessly giving to others, not ourselves

Some of the greatest players in the history of basketball have been left off the men’s team and the women’s team who the fuck is she? I don’t care how popular she is. Look at you gonna sit at home and root against your own country for one person. There were plenty of times my favorite player didn’t make the squad, and I never once thought about boycotting. I guarantee you CC is relieved she doesn’t have to go to the Olympics with all those jealous petty babies. She stands out more than ever now that we see how immature and jealous all the WNBA players are. Especially Diana Tarasi. I thought for sure she would be the leader that took Caitlyn under her wings and look out for her. But obviously she’s not the leader that any of us thought she was and that’s exactly why none of the endorsement deals and all the hype did not come her way because she does not have the personality for it. What Kaitlyn has is very special and what all these girls are going to see is that when Kaitlyn retires from basketball all the fans are going to retire with her. Nobody is watching the game without CC as a part of the WNBA. As a gay woman, I can tell you it has nothing to do with Kaitlyn being straight going to the Olympics, these women are just 100% straight up jealous of everything about her. There are a lot of women in the WNBA, but these girls they’re in high school and that is why the WNBA will never heighten. If there are mistakes in this post, I apologize I am walking and using voice text and I cannot see. It is too sunny out.

    HERE ARE THE FACTS.
Rookies have been on the Olympic team before : REBECCA LOBO IN 1996, DIANA TAURASI IN 2004, CANDACE PARKER IN 2008 AND BREANNA STEWART IN 2016.
Here is the average list of their first 12 day rookie year (in fairness to Clark who played 12 games so far).
YEAR HEIGHT FG% 3P% FT% TRB AST STL BLK PTS
    REBECCA LOBO 1997 6'4 0,33 0,21 0,68 8,17 1,92 1,08 1,67 11,83
    DIANA TAURASI 2004 6'0 0,45 0,42 0,81 3,42 3,83 1,25 0,75 18,25
    CANDACE PARKER 2008 6'4 0,47 0,38 0,74 9,58 4,08 1,58 2,25 16,75
    BREANNA STEWART 2016 6'4 0,42 0,19 0,84 9,75 2,92 1,08 2,08 16,33
    CAITLIN CLARK 2024 6'0 0,36 0,32 0,90 5,33 6,33 1,50 0,92 16,83
As you can see Caitlin Clark is a better free throw shooter, highest in assist, 2nd in PTS, 2nd in STL, 3rd in 3P%, and a better rebounder and shotblocker than Taurasi at the same height. A way better than Rebecca Lobo (who had 0 game in WNBA during the 1996 Olympic) in all categories except TRB.

Power. Abuse. Narrative Control. - None of this is about true basketball. Caitlin Clark isn't just another college player. She is the best college player ever. But she came from Outside of the Program, so she not only cannot be accepted, the goal will be to destroy/discredit her. (have we EVER seen ANY narrative, about a great record-breaking rookie, where "fans", "size/strength", or ''turnovers'' were used as a reason TO DEBASE that rookie?)
    - Clark does not subscribe to the Insider's Club - that has controlled HS to college talent for decades and serves a few select colleges, the WNBA players who were cultivated through them, and the media who align them with The Narrative.
    - Clark had the courage to buck the Program and to build her own Legend - the right way. Her Unexpected, Underdog, Organic, and Amazing path - with the best Coach and team in college - created a phenomena that exposed the destructive failure that has been wNCAA to WNBA basketball.
For this, they are trying to break her. They are trying to break her physically, emotionally, and socially.
    - They thought they could abuse her into submission through the Institutionalized Abuse that they've used for decades on rookies - who then are only allowed in when they submit and become abusers of the next generation.
    - Not only will Clark not submit. She will break the cycle of abuse. She already reached out to Juju, as a mentor (who of course will be 'advised'' against Clark).
    - Clark has the "Neo-type" of character, with independent strength, born of the quieter yet MUCH bigger pond of support that both allowed her to always believe and strive to be her best self and then buoyed her with loyal support - until the world could no longer ignore her. The support behind Clark is The Sleeping Giant and is much much greater than the cheap-shot WNBA leech-abuse club can even imagine.
Most of all, Clark will always have the most reliable (Iowa) fanbase, family, and friendships (including Hawkeye teammates) that are grounded in the Real Culture of Christian values, tradition, and integrity. She will always have the strongest people behind her who are positive and will support her always - whether winning or losing games.
    - The media can force the Narrative of their distorted sub-culture of bigotry and power seeking. They have now found themselves in The Quicksands of Truth, and the more they lash out the more they sink themselves.
    - The WNBA/media efforts to exclude Clark can only backfire as they burn themselves. The bigotry, jealousy, envy, and attempts to abuse only expose them for their cruelty to her, which has been their cruelty to all women - all for a distorted grab for power.
The WNBA Insiders Club is in full self-destruction mode with every violent hit on the court, every abuser's-excuse given at press conferences, every side-eye passive-aggressive statement (from team mates, opponents, or media). Now Clark doesn't have to do anything but - Let them Burn Themselves.

Caitlyn Clark is not the biggest snub on the USA team. Arike Ogunbowale is second in the league in points per game at 26.4 in and leads the league with 3.2 steals...that is the real snub

It is really time for everyone to take a deep breath and allow Clark's career to get going! Right now after just 12 games in the pros, Caitlin is not playing anywhere near well enough to justify a spot on the Olympic team. And before you get mad at me, please just check any stat you want for verification! The only areas she's doing particularly well in right now are 3 pts. made (on not very good shooting %) and at the free throw line. NOW - she is playing extremely well for a rookie and especially considering the way other teams are coming after her - but let's not pretend that she's even close to her prime and dominating the league yet!
As for Team USA - they had 3 choices:
    1. Put her on the team (based on accolades and collegiate accomplishments rather than current skill level) and don't start her - frustrating her and the fan base.
    2. Put her on the team and start her, hurting your team's overall performance and basically doubling the resentment other WNBA players already have toward her (which is a human issue, not a WNBA specific issue).
    3. Don't put her on the team, hurting your television ratings but helping your team's continuity and being fair to everyone who is currently playing better than Caitlin.
Now, there is no reason to think that Team USA would lose the gold even if Caitlin was starting and playing sub-optimally BUT it seems to me that leaving her behind is the best decision for all of the individuals involved INCLUDING Caitlin.

I talk about it on my sports deli podcast where I've had a lot of WNBA players as well as the media about why not for the obvious reasons she needs to be on this team and it's because she brings an awareness to past and current players that no one else can do not to mention the fact that if they're going to make her the face of the league And they're trying to pass the torch and this might be the last Olympics for DT then she needs to be mentored by the best players in the world because she has no mentors right now. Forget about the global impact that she could have. This is one of these stupidest decisions in the history of not only women's basketball but in all of sports. This is the exception to the rule that should be imposed and I'm sure Dawn Staley stormed out of that meeting furious about how stupid her colleagues are for this decision and their explanation as to why she wasn't on the team because she would mostly sit on the bench which nobody knows that for sure. A historically epically awful decision.

We want someone who will stand proudly with their hand over their heart with tears in their eyes when the star spangled banner is played.
