I just got one yesterday. Almost didn't buy it because of bad reviews. Don't listen to the bad reviews! The instructions are not too hard to follow. Took me about 2 hours by myself to assemble. It's definitely worth the money. I would advise putting a cover or sheet on the mattress because the buttons are uncomfortable but besides that it's a great buy!
I bought a futon from Walmart, and I haven't had much trouble with it, though I got the one without the arms as I'm a tall guy. As supplied, it was fine as a couch, but I ended up having to get some extra cushioning to put under the bedsheets to make it comfortable enough to sleep on in bed mode. All in all I like it, and I still use it to this day.
I just got my mainstay futon yesterday and it took me 6 hours to put together. All due to fact that i wasnt putting things in the right spot. But its a pretty good futon. I replaced my 10 year old twin bed with it and its pretty darn comfortable i would recommend it.
Over the past few months I have had to do a few things to tune up the futon frame. I also added a memory foam layer and sheets. I never use the mattress directly. I wound up taking some foam carpet grip mat material and wrapped it around the areas where the center links hold the two frame sections together through the gap. This almost completely stopped the frame from sagging. While is is annoying that I had to do additional work to get it to work as a futon, and I had to do additional work to get it to be more solid as a couch, overall the futon has worked out pretty well. In the future, I might get one again since they are so cheap, but I only spent $98 and now they are $124. It works well enough to pass out on and sleep pretty well.
Its a decent seat, but it really sucks as a bed, it will fold back up as you try to sleep on it and convert into a seat. Bad design and engineering. They should have made something to stop it in place. Its really dangerous as a bed especially eith children cause of the folding back up instability. Yet it claims two people can sleep on it
I just bought one a week ago and the mechanism on it is crap. Its stripped out already and wont sit up anymore. Was never any abuse to it just two adults sitting on it and broke that quick. Very disappointed!!
Bought one of the newer model of these today built it by myself couple things to note there on clearance right now at least at my Walmart for 116 normally 149 it’s pretty alright for the price it sits up fairly well with two positions plus the bed one if you have a problem with the concave in the middle but a cardboard file box under it with some stuff in it so it sits flat also probably be prepared To by a better mattress as is it’s alright but it be better if you had a better one
i have the same futon i feel the metal but its livable i am gonna lay a board on top of the metal and 4 pieces of memory foam 2 on each side of it other than that love it have it next to my window unit AC i can sleep forever on it
I have the same thing, what I would suggest for those who sleep on it is to put a foam mattress on the inside where the cushion is and it helps greatly for me because I've had surgery on my back having the foam makes it softer and doesn't direct your back to the metal. As for lint, pet hair, and dirt, I am not sure what helps get rid of that. any advice on that one?
You can find them free around campus on most sunday mornings (after a Saturday night use) usually bent sitting the curb with a free sign on it.... hey $89, it is cheaper then a text book for 1 class.
This is the worst product I have ever bought in my life. The mattress is so thin I have to put cushons under it, and the back won't stay up. Stay away from this item.
Can anyone help me Ive been looking at futons for a while but i dont know what one to get i would be using it as a bed and price is not bad for me i was thinking in the 300-450 zone so does anyone know some really good ones to use as a bed
ysh i fucking hate this piece of shit, when i sleep on it flat and i move to the middle the whole bed folds in!! ive bought other mainstays and they were all shit too. never again.

Is the matress removable so you can put a matress protector on it?

I’m trying to figure out how to clean the mattress but I don’t know what type of fabric is inside. Vacuuming it would take forever 😭
you can always get a futon mattress from big lots or amazon and its fine
A full sized fitted sheet works really well for those. When it gets dirty, it can be taken off and washed.

6 hours to put together? were you even concentrating? Just kidding :-) Not all manuals make sense, some are just very confusing. Rage fuel lol

Did you ever find a solution to this problem?

How can we dissemble?
I have this as my bed and it's pretty awesome and is easy to use!
I put a better futon matresss on top of the normal one. Love it. Cant even sleep on normal mattresses anymore
i have the same futon i feel the metal but its livable i am gonna lay a board on top of the metal and 4 pieces of memory foam 2 on each side of it other than that love it have it next to my window unit AC i can sleep forever on it
I have one, and I'm having trouble getting it to lock in place as a bed, is that normal? I feel like when I lay on it, it's going to close up on me.
Adri Oden yeah mine never has lock and I sink in. My dad is saying to put a board under it
I unhooked the springs on the side and it doesn’t dip as much.
Tyler Reyes put like a file size cardboard box under the direct middle then it can’t fold because your stopping the mechanizim
@@CurrentOutcast did you ever figure it out??
I got the $220 one and it wasn't any better. Most uncomfortable piece of shit I've ever sat on in my life.
i have the same one. they are so uncomfortable. mine lays back further then yours making it impossible to sit on
Did you need any additional tools to assemble the product, or were all tools included?
Does the matress come completely off? Like so you can put a protector on it.
Is there any way for it to "lock" when in the bed position?
i put concrete blocks under mine for the bed position lol
@Tyler Reyes it pushes up the middle where its folding and forces it to stay flat that way cause its like sleeping in a taco LOL
@@patrickbennett439 did you ever find a solution
@@germsjb yep, sold it LOL,, ALSO i place concrete blocks under it to "lock" it
How tf do u unfold it. I've been trying all fucking day and the shit won't work
Jacob have u ever figured it out yet I'm having the same problem as you is that fund it out first I'll let you know OK
You need to speak kindly to it and touch it gently.

Using a full sized fitted sheet helps.
Just get a memory foam topper and you'll be fine!
I'll find one of those for my bedroom as a replacement for my falling apart bed.
Crappiest futon for sitting and laying down for adults. It seemed fine for small children.
Is it similar to the size of a full size bed?
Ty Knowles yes sir

It's shit. Metal broke in a year, welds popped. Mattress flat as all hell. Got hard as a rock within 6 months.
is the mattress cover removable?
Yours looks flatter then mine, mine is at an angle
i put mine in garbage . it destroye my wall . its not lock flat when in the bed position.
Thanks Man. About to get this
I want a futon but I'm 6"2 and 320 pound and I do if I'll fit and it'll hold my weight
I got one for my son, but I can't figure out how to make it sit up straight
This is purchased for the price, not the quality! If you want better quality be prepared to spend $4-600.
