In 1966 a friend of mine and I had the opportunity to see either this car or the other at a dealership in Cleveland, Ohio. As I recall it was in rather shabby shape, but my friend and I were quite excited, none the less and even had the opportunity to sit in it. It definitely a very cool experience.
I've heard several times that George Harrison bought this 'Bond Special' and that it was signed in the glove-box by Connery and 'Q' (Desmond Llewellen) (this would've around '66 I think) I once worked as a 'bag-boy' at a 'Vegas Village' grocery on Sahara & Viking (long gone) and bagged groceries for Connery AND Jill St. John AND put the bags into the trunk of the "Mustang Mach One' used in the movie "Diamonds Are Forever".I got a five-dollar tip from 'Bond' himself! (as good as he looked on-screen...Connery looked like a 'Greek God come to life' then) And Jill was no 'slouch' either! Funny...but I never really gave it much thought at the time...it was like "Oh...this is cool..."Bond" himself is buying groceries!"
+NIK4014 I'm not look it up this cars looks was designed by an Italian coach builder, that's why it's so beautiful. His name was Carrozzeria touring superleggera
+Bleak Hollow touring superleggera is the group of coach builder who did the car sorry, and also did the 1962 Maserati 3000GT which looks very similar to this DB5
@@joedon9758 you know for a fact it isn't a crappy movie so stop whining and crying it's too fucking bad that mommy and daddy ignored you as a child but you need to grow the fuck up and suck it the fuck up and deal with it!
Now slow down a mo... Didn't this car get a cameo appearance in Skyfell? I seem to remember that Bond took M and they made a run for it from London, to the farm where Bond grew up. The car he drove, was (ostensibly) the original DB5 from Goldfinger.
Simon Tsiganis yeah, the original car is in someones collection. I actually heard on the radio that the current owner got it from the black-market (car was stolen from Aston Martin) without knowing that he was buying a stolen car.
The original Bond 007 DB5 with those gadgets for movies was stolen in a hangar and never to be seen again. So they made another one to replace the stolen original. Now Aston Martin build 25 original samples with the gadgets but all is not road legal.
I know this was posted a while back, but is this the most famous movie car or is it the bullet Mustang? And why are you driving around with the bumpers extended.
This most likely is one of the DB5s the Bond production team fitted out for PR purposes in the 1960s. I believe they made four for that purpose. The filming car has been missing for over 20 years.
George Alexander There were two DB5’s used in Goldfinger and Thunderball. One was the road car used for the driving scenes. The other was used for the interior shots. This was the road car.
Nostalgia is all great & fine, but that old Aston Martin can be superseded by almost any other car built in the last 40 years. Faster, quieter, more reliable....virtually any concrete metric. Sorry, time marches on, & this old thing didn't compete even when it was new, against its contemporaries. The Corvette of the same era could run circles around it, style, memories & celluloid can't elevate it beyond what it actually was....a rather mediocre car.
Ricardo Ellison guessing you appreciate the heritage, though?

I am a Ferrari collector (12 cars so far, including 3 F40's and 2 Daytonas) but I love and respect this Bond's DB5. I also have many university science degrees (Physics-Chemistry-Computing-MBA). I would still vote Trump if called to polls. And I am a convinced faithful Catholic. Nobody is perfect.
if i had a car like this, i would drive it wearing a tuxedo even to buy milk in the grocery store
Same here
You made my day.
Haha
Bottle of milk, skimmed not shaken
djmhyde tweed jacket and all
If I were to choose between a DB5 and a bugatti veyron, I would go for the DB5.
Same here 👍
+Anibal Babilonia me too moreover ist more expensive
Yesssss
You'd be really fuckin stupid if you'd chose the bugatti
No you wouldnt.
i can`t believe this sold for only 3m €. what a steal.

to be able to buy and drive a car like that db5. incredible.
Exquisite Historic car. & Vicki is great. She is easily in the top 3, if not THE BEST English speaking auto test drivers / presenters on the internet.
I'm sorry, I couldn't hear the video over the Bond theme blasting in my mind.
Same thing 'ere!
So sold for 2.6 million at auction and bought one for 250k estimate in Forza Horizon 2 what a bargain!
ThatGuyThatGames In Forza Horizon 3, I spent couple of millions for a new db5. Can tell it’s value is appreciated.
My favorite car of all-time. Hands down
i need this in my life
La voiture de rêve ultime !
Anyone else feel slightly nervous when Vicki took her eyes off the road to look at the camera?
A car that important yeah haha
"believed to be destroyed" until it's found.
What song is playing in the background and is particularly noticeable at 2:06?
"Buttocksh"? She should have shaid "Connerysh arsh!"
How about a demo of the ejector seat ?.
I love you this car
That Italian beauty
I hope you are joking

Its all good :)
Anyone know what the music is from 0:50 onwards?
What is the red light at 1:51 ;-) ?
+Speedwagon1983 shift up maybe?
i think the car is to old for this Feature ;-)
+Speedwagon1983 Might be a oil warning or a temperature warning. Based on the age of the engine, it is easy to assume this is the case.
Usually means engine problem.
keep your eyes on the road lady!
4 were available for filming..
The greatest movie car of all time.
What about Herbie? ;-)
What about the one in Louman Museum in The Hague?
Imagine crashing it at the test drive :D
I doubt somebody would destroy 3 million pounds
He probably sold it on the black market
fuckin ridicious, waste 3 million damned pounds just why that one modified for a crappy movie. shit...

I don’t believe it is the most famous film car. I think the Bullitt Ford Mustang is more famous and will sell for more than 3 million when auctioned.
very excellent car
Imagine if it was the one with the gadgets
the greatest movie car is the batmobile
No it's the Ford Mustang of Steve Mc QUEEN in Bullit
It's on sale for £2 million now
Can someone please tell me what channel this show is in !!?? Thanks
discovery channel
Animal Planet
Discovery science
awesome!
apparently the stolen one is somewhere in the Middle East and someone bought it without knowing that it was stolen ;-;
Only one DB5 was used in those two films, and the car’s been missing since 1997.
George Alexander used in skyfall also

Finn McMissile be like.
That’s Finn mcmissile
Finn McMissile was based on the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia.

Now why do you know that? Lol.
there's something really sexy about that blonde lady...the car is unbelievable!
