I remember when these were in stores. Hannah Montana dolls were SO popular. You couldn’t go anywhere without seeing Hannah or Miley everywhere. Taylor Swift was popular, but the Hannah Montana series was way more popular and more appealing to a wider demographic. Her dolls also had association with Disney. Which means bigger budget. The dolls totally competed with each other, and I can’t recall anyone who ever bought a Taylor Swift over Hannah. I remember thinking Taylor was more beautiful than her doll and I think that also has a play in it. The face sculpt they gave her wasn’t very Taylor Swift who is pretty, it was kinda ugly.
Your research is so impressive, just casually dropping that you looked at runway outfits for a whole decade (!) shows how much effort you put into your videos and I know there's so much more that we humble viewers can't even guess! I loved your surprise at the end too, how perfect!! The Love Story doll is so pretty, I think that one's my favourite!
Oh my gosh, I can’t believe I didn’t know about these growing up! I was a big Swiftie from the jump, but I had no clue about the clothing line or the dolls. I would’ve killed for the Love Story or the Teardrops ones, those are super pretty! I was on eBay scrolling while watching this, but I think they’re out of my budget for now. Fingers crossed I get as lucky as you!
Maybe the mystery dresses really weren't based off existing Taylor dresses, which would be why they were re-used for the 3.5 wave. Less legal issues to worry about.

From what I've been able to find the tour bus never was released, I've never seen a person post any images of it, and the designer of the bus said it was never released. I think the photos that website uses are just photos of the mock up product and not from a release

i loved taylor swift when i was little but when i learned about her “dating” a minor and then later on dating a white supremacist it turned me off to her. her feminism just feels so fake and manufactured to get audiences to feel like she’s relatable and make them forget that she’s a billionaire that uses her private jet in place of a 30 minute drive. learning about how she is as a person behind her perfectly crafted brand image just made her music impossible to enjoy for me anymore.. but these dolls remind me of a time where taylor was actually just a girl and she wasn’t the person she is today and it’s very nostalgic to look back on a time where i could actually enjoy taylor swift
