Love it! Our son is also a Star Wars fan but he just turn 18 a couple months ago and is off to college soon (thankfully still local). He will still have his home bedroom FOREVAH, lol. When we bought our [forever] home a couple years ago, we created a theater within the large, open room of our finished basement and painted the ceiling matte black and added long black velvet curtains on ceiling rails to partition off the theater area, and make it feel like a separate room. I also bought a large dark grey carpet on sale and had it cut down and edges binded to make it exactly the size of the space. We added a few reclining theater seats and wallah! We love the black ceiling and curtains, and it really does create the illusion of almost infinity when you look up. I wish I could post a pic here to show you. Our son also designed his long narrow closet. He ripped out the pre-existing closet, patched and painted it, and designed his new closet online via a closet company which delivers everything. He and my husband (mostly son) then installed it and it turned out great. Now the awkward long, narrow closet functions so well and looks great too. I will admit, my hubs and I had the motive making our home so nice that our son will still want to be here with us as much as possible, even though he’s an adult now. Sorry for ramble. Hearing you talk about creating a special bedroom for your son, made me reminisce about doing the same with our son throughout his childhood. We’re about to be empty nesters so there’s lots of mixed emotions as you can imagine. My Mum helped me do the same when I was growing up so I knew how important and special it is for kids to have a space they feel proud of and happy to be in. It’s also important to allow them to be part of the decision making so they’re invested and will take care of it all (our son is so proud of his space that he keeps his room very neat and orderly). :-)
I don't mind the rambling one bit! My oldest has one more year left in High School then he'll be off to college. It'll still be a while before we're empty nesters but I totally understand the reminiscing down memory lane! I find myself doing that with my own kids as they're each on their 2nd room makeovers 🤪 talk about spoiled I KNOW! I just hope they realize that my mom and I have helped create special and meaningful rooms for each of them all out of love! Sounds like your son has been a helpful handyman around your home!

He’s a lucky young man indeed, to have you as his momma, and your friend, doing all this for him! 👏💫🪐 PS- our son has those LED strip lights too, they’re so cool! He has it hooked up to his phone so even when he’s out, he can turn them on. The first few times he did that, caught me off guard and I figured our house must be haunted, lol.
You're the sweetest! Seeing his face really was priceless! And I'm so lucky to have it on camera ❤️ My mom and I do all of these fun projects together, so I hope Aiden will remember that as he gets older as well, that his mom and grandma spent hours on end creating a special place just for him!
