Hey man thank you for the very informative video. I have a ps4 that’s the same model as this and I replaced the disc drive with one that I knew for a fact worked and it still wasn’t spinning. I looked in the area you shown and I believe that component in mine needs to be replaced as well. Unfortunately I don’t have a soldering station but I plan on getting one in the future as I like repairing consoles :)
Hello and best regards, I have a question, I have a PS4 slim which does not spin discs, the drive was transferred from a working console and it doesn't do anything, only when the console warms up after about five minutes it reads discs normally, can you tell me something?
Hey bud let loving the videos. Quick question you don't mind. Would you happen to know the values of the resistor and capacitor right behind the HDMI port on this board? I'm working one now replacing the HDMI and noticed it took out those two components and I don't have a donor board of this model. Can't find the values anywhere online.
I believe the capacitor on top is a 0.1uF. The component beside the cap is a 5.6V zener diode. AKA "DJ" diode. Neither is required for the system to work. Their are several resistors on the bottom that are needed.
@@ToltecMerc @ToltecMerc oh really? Interesting. Maybe I'll go through with the new port install then. Happen to know the voltage and size of the .1 uf cap? Maybe I'll pull a dj diode off another model board. I thought it was a dj diode there but saw someone else online say no it's a resistor. Thank you. You're the man!
There is a fuse connected to the resistor on the opposite side of the PCB. Other than the fuse, it’s pretty much a direct connection to the 12V terminals from the supply.
@@ToltecMerc i forgot to mention this happed when i traveling with ps4 then after its does not read discs and no sound if coming off the disc drive i think the disc is not spinning 💔
Hello i hope you can help me with my ps4 or can give me any advice my ps4 suddnley turns off without any warning and it doesnt turn on unless i unplugged the power cable and reconnected and sometimes i can play up to 3 hours without turning off and its not overheating tried changing thermal paste and powersupply and it didn't work what should i do and if its a mother board problem is it fixble

@@ToltecMerc I'll grab some .1uf 10v 201 caps and harvest or buy some dj diodes. Thanks again. Look forward to your next video as always!
What temperature do you set your hot air gun while working on ps4 motherboard?
Probably 400C-440C should handle most things except maybe HDMI ports.
Hello sir am not getting the 12v on that resistor but 2.2v. Where should i look for the fault?

I have a ps4 that works fine but takes disc in but is not spinning 💔💔
Please i need what can i do?
It could be a bad Blu-Ray drive. Swap the drive and that will let you know if you have a problem on the PS4 mainboard.
