    I have found if there is still water droplets on my face surface when applying this, it becomes diluted and makes my skin dry and tight afterwards. So key is to get the correct dampness.

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial 2 года назад +1

      Yes, there is a big confusion as to what damp skin actually is.
      "Damp skin is when the skin has absorbed some water but is dry to the touch. After washing your face, the skin remains damp for up to 30 minutes." (which you can find in leaflets such as tretinoin or 20% azelaic acid gels/creams)
      While recording these videos, I realized this: people ask me daily if these products need to be applied to damp skin. So I thought, why not say, " pat the skin damp and just do as I usually would do".
      Then I realized that people still did not understand that they should remove the water drops from the skin surface. So I changed it again in my newer videos and always tell people to do that to avoid this sticky or tight feeling and to avoid layering issues. But it is an ongoing battle since some famous individuals tell the opposite, and I always wonder if they even tried it.

      Well, CeraVe has an eye cream that has been tested around the eyes, whereas their moisturisers did not. - That's their claim.

      Likely he did not have oily skin as otherwise, it would be too heavy; many people confuse oily skin with sweaty skin or are unaware of the differences. So it is too heavy for oily skin and too occlusive, so a lighter form without mineral oils works much better. I suggest using the CeraVe Ultra Light PM Lotion.

I have oily skin, acne prone and also had this problem with over exfoliating my skin. What i used and still use is. Cerave hydrating cleanser, cerave daily moisturizer. Keeping your face very hydrated is key for its health, trust me. For extra moisturization, i use cosrx snail mucin essence. Since you had problem with over exfoliation, avoid any face scrub that has large granules… use a fragrance free charcoal scrub or use ordinary latic acid 5% . Every product you use on your face should be fragrance and alcohol free, if not, you’ll worsen your skin. Please moisturize. And most importantly use sunscreen.❤️

      Damp skin refers to when your skin has absorbed some water(while washing it) but has been dried off on the surface. It doesn't look much different on the surface alone than dry skin. And after washing your face, your skin remains damp for up to 30 minutes.

      @@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Hi. Before anything else, I just wanna say I love your videos!
      Anyway, my skin gets so dry and flaky near my eyebrows. I never really had any problems with my skin before until recently, I had fungal acne. I cleared them using Nizoral shampoo and my skin calmed down a bit.
      I decided to use CeraVe cleanser and moisturizer after a while since I could feel my skin tight. But after using the moisturizer, my skin felt hydrated (but oily at times), and bumps and pimples appeared.
      I feel like I have sensitive skin because whenever I tried using products they all ended up irritating my skin. So, I only rinsed my face with water and never had a problem for years til this year started. :(

      @@sushitr4p Well, if your skin only gets dry and flaky in that area, then just use a bit of moisturizer on it. No need to use it all over your face :) But also, this is a very heavy cream, so if it is still too heavy for that particular area, go with their Ultralight PM moisturizer. • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial

      There are multiple possibilities but one can look like this:
      AM:
      Cleanser
      Niacinamide
      (Optional Moisturizer)
      Sunscreen
      PM:
      Cleanser
      Lactic Acid (Start with 2-3 times a week and increase the frequency if needed and as tolerated over the following weeks..)
      Niacinamide
      Moisturizer
      Keep in mind that always choose the right products for your skin type and needs. It's especially important with the moisturizer and sunscreen as otherwise, it may feel heavy or greasy on the skin.

    How do you moisturize your eyelids

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial 2 года назад +1

      You can technically use it on your eyelids, but I realized that many people have sensitive eyes, and since they do not say to use it there, I leave it out. So instead, they told me to use creams specifically designed for that area to feel more comfortable and that it does not move around etc. But so they sell another product...
      Anyway, I do not do it, and I do not like the feeling of having something heavy on my eyelids. I also do not wear sunscreen in that area, just in the demonstrations. I wear sunglasses when being outside for a more extended period.
