Joke was inappropriate. Jada seems to be an ongoing target for Chris. However, if Will wants to protect his family, violence is not the high road to take on national television, or anywhere.

I may not have agreed with the joke, even if she didn't have alopecia, but Will was SOOOO wrong for this. What also upset me is that people are treating him like he was a victim instead of the assailant. Will's entire family are celebrities and their entire private life now deliberately made public by Jada. They don't get to decide what people can and can't joke about them. It comes with the territory of being famous, you would think that after all these decade he'd know this.
Chris Rock’s joke may be judged as in poor taste. Clearly, Jada did not appreciate it. However, Will Smith’s reaction was totally inappropriate & was not about protecting his wife. He drew more attention than the joke itself. It was such a shame & disappointment. What could have been a beautiful Oscar moment was tainted by a display of anger & lack of self-control. Furthermore, it overshadowed the Richard Williams story & cheated Questlove of his Oscar moment.
It’s pains me to see two brothers going at it. There’s nothing funny no matter how I look at it. Chris is now going to be called punk cause he got b!tch slapped and didn’t retaliate and if he reports he will be labelled snitch. I’m so disappointed in Will. Violence is never the answer and it plays into the stereotype of Black men so I’m mad mad about that too. Where was this energy for August? I bet you if Will hit Rick off stage he would have gotten a beat down. I’m hoping Chris sues and gets paid. One more thing: I’m sick of BM making fun of BW. I would be applauding if Will had just made his outburst and let that be. I cannot condone the violence still. And Chris, he needs to lay off his incessant jokes about Jada when he gets on the Oscar’s stage. That’s my two cents
