- I can't be the only one excited to try Hogwarts Legacy, and with wizardry on my mind, I couldn't really help but to write something related to that. What do wizards do? They go on whimsical quests, of course.
It's very rare that I attempt to write these bigger sort of arrangements, it's partly due to the PC wanting to catch fire every two seconds and partly because I really enjoy writing the smaller more intimate arrangements a lot more. Variety is good, though, and not everything has to be that level of fun.

Thank you! That's a very broad subject, you're going to have to be a bit more specific.
The more I listen, the more I notice little motifs here and there and it's pretty sweet. The riffs starting at 2:50 are also in your song Adventure Calls, and maybe other places. I'm kind of a new listener (thanks to the game Crystal Project) but I've enjoyed everything I've heard from you - thanks for making great music!
Thank you so much! After almost 9 years and 300-something songs, there are bound to be quite a few similarities. I think it's kind of fun though that songs written many years apart share themes. At least I'm stealing from myself! 😅

Thank you! It's a kind of hammered dulcimer, a lot of hammered stringed instruments have very similar sounds. The main difference is the number of strings and where in the world it originates, there are so many different ones.

I love the song, but I don't know if I'd love a similar song generated by an AI trained on melodies and compositions from "various artists" on the internet, without their permission.
Thanks! It should be noted though that every even moderately produced song you've heard anywhere in the last 5 years have had machine learning algorithms applied to it, I sure wonder where all that training comes from. I've been using Gullfoss, Soothe and Izotope products for years in my mixing, you just didn't know about it. All of these are industry standard, by the way. You can draw the line as to what's okay and what isn't anywhere until there are laws in place. I just keep wondering why people see it as standard in my industry and horrific in the other.
@@Vindsvept Well, it's certainly not as simple as "it's all ML", because obviously nobody's reasonably decrying all ML as 'evil'. I don't know anything about music production, so I can't speak to any details there (but I do assume the composition is yours, not generated by typing "fantasy music, wizards, magic, folk, traditional instruments" into ML software). I personally draw lines by applying my moral standards to what I know about the subject and practice, and what the artists themselves think about it. So even if I learn that something that wouldn't necessarily fly in illustration or software development is completely standard in music, I might not consider it a big deal if music artists at large are okay with it.
I wondering if there are any connection between this track and the previous tracks of "Winter's Quest" and "Quest's End".
Yay. A lite motif of "Adventures Calls" at 2:50. That brought me back. Nice addition to a track with a title of going on a quest.

Great music! Not gonna buy Hogwarts Legacy, cause Rowling is horribly transphobic and seems to measure people's agreement with her by how much money she makes, but I wouldn't force anyone else to do the same. Have fun!
