The biggest issue here, is something most young men deal with in the UK, including myself, that all social events revolve around alcohol for men our age. I dont think John is an alcoholic, but he either has to completely separate himself from all his friends, or just meet them in the pub, at a house party. Like his mates aren't going to go for a walk with him in the park, or get a coffee. Its a big issue for young men
If you want to get out of an addiction the first thing you do is get out of the circle Ure in even if it leaves you with no one you have to be ruthless to ureself
100% right. I have the same issue. All my friends do is drink whenever we meet up. It’s never been anything else for years. I don’t even remember doing anything else with my mates ever other than drinking. I don’t hang around with them anymore, for those exact reasons... but you nailed it on the head.
Let's be real his friends can't see their own future (i don't mean they don't have one, they jsut don't see past the present), so they don't care about the ramifications of what might and can happen, when they are more experienced in life they will.
Alright mate you try to do that in this generation 👍 fool got no clue about what Mental Health is or why he's struggling with this how about find out the reason why he's drinking instead of why he's not making money, men never get help from anyone nowadays.
He's not a bad lad at all he's just young and immature ! He'll grow up one day hopefully out of prison! Most young lads need a good strong dad role model in their life..
Very true. Problem is there are so many shit people out there some kids just don't stand a chance and nothing can ever be done about that. No matter what there will always be people like this out there.
Addiction is often partly a learned behaviour in my opinion. My great grandfather grandfather and father were alcoholics. I saw the havoc it created generation after generation. I have never drank alcohol. I do not judge those who do but it is not for me. We all make choices in our lives and must live with the consequences. I wish this lovely young family all the best from Canada.
It has a lot to do with genetics, hence why you had a family of alcoholics. You have to think about it the same as you would any inherited condition. A lot of mental illness gets passed down between generations.. same with addiction. It's not all just someone choosing to drink, goes deeper than that.
Yeah I don’t drink anymore myself. My mother, father, uncles and many more family members were alcoholics. My entire life I grew up around alcoholism until about 24 years old. Alcohol is disgusting. Should be made illegal.
