Cookie the Pug, absolutely rocked it! She, so had a problem with one jump, but her sheer joy and enthusiasm was so incredible and so obvious. And in the end, isn't that what counts? That a loved dog should have joy in life?

Pugs r adorable. They will do anything to please their owners even with things like agility when their body structure ( especially the nose) isn’t suited for it. They r so special
@@Puglady2000 Cookie makes it look way, but Pugs' bodies really aren't well suited to it. Their bodies are quite square (the breed description calls it "cobby"), and their legs are proportionally short. Also, their breathing apparatus can be easily overwhelmed, so you have to be careful they don't get overheated or winded. So they just have more hurdles to overcome than other breeds. (Ha!) But cookie did GREAT, didn't he?
@@vantastic9367 Pugs ARE muscular! Very sturdy little guys. Having owned many Pugs over my lifetime, I'm not likely to "forget" that! :D However, more is required for agility than muscle alone. I've also had Pugs that had to have brachycephalic surgery, and I've owned Pugs when I lived in hot, humid climates. I'm pretty familiar with their particular health hurdles (HA! see what I did there?), and, while I might have "played at" agility when I was younger, I probably wouldn't try to compete in it with any of my Pugs.

@@KenyanBunnie many people arent a fan of pugs cause of too much irresponsible breeders giving them health, and breathing issues + many people just think theyre deadly ugly.
So awesome to see! What people don’t seem to realize is that there are plenty of healthy happy pugs who have an active lifestyle and who would do just fine for the amount of effort needed in agility. People like to trash the breed as little deformed monsters, but they really aren’t. Yes, there are some pugs that were very irresponsibly bred, but most pugs I have met don’t have a mile-long list of medical issues. Breathing issues are common, but the fix is pretty simple and affordable if it needs to be addressed. My pug, for example, loves to run around in the woods doing things much like what was in this agility video. She’ll leap over logs, run through them, zig zag all over the place and has a good time. She’s still young at 4 years old, but every dog eventually slows down, so I’m sure she’ll eventually not be as full of energy someday. But, for now, she keeps up with my German shepherd no problem. Loves walks and goes on shorter runs (not a big dog, so she’s working harder to run the same distance). She runs around to meet every dog (‘s owner) at the dog park. The thing is that if your lifestyle is not active, and you overfeed a small dog, then you’re quickly going to have an unhealthy dog no matter the breed.
*aHwWWw iTs aDorAbLeEeEeEEE!* but seriously I admire the people that have enough time and effort to train their dogs as well as this! My dog can’t even roll over!
To be fair, I had a dog that knew quite a few tricks and I probably could have gotten him to do agility if I'd had a course to use, but he refused to learn roll over. 😂
@@LittleLulubee that's how our current dog does it too! 😂 The last one did it once and then "forgot" how! 😂 At this point, I'm more impressed with people who can teach a dog "roll over" than any of the "more advanced" stuff! 😂

Cookie is such an amazing pug! When my pug was 3 years old, having never run an obstacle course, got Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Tears maybe from the slippery floor in the kitchen, spent a fortune to fix her leg.

Thats an amazing little pug Its amazing how you can teach a pug to do that. So funny, so chubby, but he makes every jump just barely but the pug makes it. That dog has perfect timing for the jumps, its so funny, that you can get a pug to do this course.
I once saw a pug run so fast at a little group of seagulls on the beach that it's tail uncurled out behind him! ❤ The seagulls all went up very lazily, "Oh! It's another dog.", and settled on the beach further away. Delighted to see Cookie enjoying the run. ❤ Guess I always assumed pugs wouldn't have the breathing strength. Glad to be shown that is wrong. ❤
As pug owner I will say that Cookie's trainer deserves a Nobel Prize.

@Equality Freedom why? It's true.
