I made the mistake (or not) of looking up Chork and honestly it's a truly funny word. There are at least 3 definitions for it and several ways to spell it depending on how close to the root word you want to stick. It also means Chopstick/Fork combo which has a funny visual as well. It's one of my new favorite words as well!

@@sethusk Honestly my best guess would have been that if you had multiple foods in the same meal (like for example a meat that needed cut and then something that could be easily be consumed with chopsticks alone like rice) it would give you the chance to get the benefits of a fork while still using chopsticks. The actual answer according to Smithsonian Magazine is that Jordan Brown would eat sushi with chopsticks but need a fork to get the few remaining bits of rice and so he invented the Chork. They can also be used as "trainers" to use chopsticks as they are connected at the fork end which makes using chopstick easier, but in Jordan' Brown's version of the Chork, the fork actually splits into 2 pieces so more experienced users don't need the ends connected to use the chopstick side. Sorry I didn't mean to go into a deep answer there, I just started reading too much about the Chork and thought I would share anyways.

I've never thought of any word as "ugly". Certainly gross at times, and some words are cringey, particularly when overused, but aside from that words are fun. Verbosity is one of the great joys in life that is absolutely free. I especially don't understand the disdain for the word 'moist'. I mean how else are going to describe good cake? Damp? You want damp cake? No thank you. Moist is just the root word that denotes something as possessing a certain amount of 'moisture', though not enough to be considered 'wet'. It does not have any disgusting connotations in and of itself. I also find it amusing that you adore the word "bosom" but hate "nipple" considering the inherent interrelatedness of the two.
