- Hi everyone. Susie here from Minnesota, zone 4b. It is the beginning of August and had some much needed rain. Right now is the time that I start to look at my gardens and figure out if I need to add or omit certain plants. I have been enjoying my gardens so much this season, so hopefully you enjoy this tour and thanks for watching.

Thanks for the video. Good to hear you're thinking about extending garden beds. More plants and less grass is always a good idea in my book.
Yup. I agree. Less grass is always better. Thanks for watching
I grew caladiums in pots last year and was so incredibly happy with the way they performed all season long, I will be using them again for sure. I love your planted pots for beautiful pops of color and blooms.
Thanks for watching
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more beautiful container planting than your two pots at the very beginning of the video!! Those are my colors!! How many begonias are in each pot??
Thanks so much 😊. I have 2 dragon wing begonias in each pot
Love those front porch pots❤
Love the addition of the sumac! Nice to have some height in that area! I was excited when I saw how long this video was! I’m always amazed at how great your garden looks in augu!
I am loving the Sumac there. I agree. It needed some height there. Thanks for watching and your kind comment
Thank you for sharing your garden. That rainbows end hosta is gorgeous.
Rainbow's End is a beautiful Hosta. Thanks for watching
Love your plants in the container by the door. So so pretty!!!!
Thanks so much! 😊
Your shade plant collection is so beautiful - love the variety of hostas!!
Thank you so much! I absolutely love hostas. Thanks for watching
You have such an impressive garden! 🌸🇨🇦
Thanks for watching and your kind comment
I subscribed today , I’m in zone 3a Manitoba Canada. Your garden looks a lot like mine. I have a tiger eyes cutleaf sumac , 15 yrs now, it does spread but easy to manage. I put one sucker in a pot & it’s doing great. The fall colour of this plant is worth all the inconvenience. We have lots & lots of mature trees to which challenges me for shade gardening. Drought last year but lots of rain this spring & everything exploded in size. I’ve never had so many hosta flowers, they were epic! Happy gardening. D
I used to have a Tiger Eyes Sumac, but it rotted due to a very wet season one year. It was a favorite of mine. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
I love Jeff and Tropical Plant Party, he makes me laugh and he knows his stuff about plants. 🌺💚🙃
Yeah. I can't wait for Wednesdays and Saturdays. I love dogs and his dogs make me smile all the time. Thanks for watching
So beautiful garden..👍👍👍
Thank you so much 🙂
Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful garden with us always love a good garden tour everything was beautiful
Thanks for visiting
Love your hosta beds i am transforming my beds to hosta. Plus lower maintenance
I love my shade gardens. They are very low maintenance. I think I may spend maybe an hour each week in all of my shade gardens. Thanks for watching and your kind comment
I ordered caladiums from Florida Boys!! I have about 60 caladiums in pots on and around my dining room table getting afternoon sun. I hope they’ll be as pretty as yours were last year. I also ordered some elephant ears earlier this morning!! I think our sun situation is similar but I’m in NC 7b. Thanks for your videos. I’ve been watching u since you had your pool in the back!!
Awesome. Good luck with your caladiums. I like to look back at my videos to see how they have changed and it is weird seeing the pool. Thanks for watching
Lovely stroll through your beautiful garden. Thanks 🇦🇺 Bronwyn
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching
I feel the same way about long garden videos! The longer the tour, the better!
Thanks for watching
wow good working
so nice
amazing sharing
Thank you so much
Your garden had a great season! Everything is looking beautiful. Here in Oklahoma, zone 7…so many things have literally burned up due to our numerous 100+ degree days. Trying to rethink my garden so to avoid this in the future. I looked up the Florida boys caladium company… unfortunately they are sold out for this fall.. pre-orders only for the fall 2023 season. Enjoying your videos!
We had a few days in the 100's and that was enough. Sorry to hear about your garden. Thanks for watching
Nooo! I want to see your fall as well!! 😃
Thanks for watching
I love the ginger land caladiums from Florida Boy Caladiums🌺💚🙃
I will have to check that caladium out. Thanks for the info

Hey Susie...love this tour of your garden beds and pots. At 24:01, please tell me what is the gray foliage plant and what is blooming those pinkish red flowers?
Thanks so much!!
The bluish/gray foliage is Fothergilla Blue Shadow and the plant w/the red flower is Jacob Cline Monarda/Bee Balm. Thanks for watching.
Have you ever been to Bobs hosta shed in Paynesville MN? He has amazing hostas and gardens to walk through.
No. I haven't been there. Thanks for the info.
Could you show your rain barrel setup in the next tour? Thinking about setting up one for my garden.
Sure. I will try to remember. Thanks for watching
Hello!! I'm in north Texas, zone 8a. Love your shade garden. I'm hoping mine look like yours, but the summer heat killed everything in my garden this year.
Sorry to hear about your garden. Thanks for watching and your kind comment
Hi Susie, I love the Tahitian bridal veil combined with the tradescantia! Beautiful!
Did you grow it from seed? If so, where did you buy the seed from?
Happy Gardening!
No. I did not grow Tahitian Bridal Veil from seed. I always buy this as a plant. It is one of my favorites for containers and is a quick grower. Thanks for watching
Hi Susie...Just love your Hosta garden beds and the variety of hydrangea. Please tell me what is the red foliage plant down on the patio, in front of the lime
hydrangea at 48:59? It might be in a pot. I would love to know what that is. Love your whole yard; thanks so much for sharing it with us! Blessings, Connie from Pa.
That is a coleus that I have been growing for a while. I keep taking cuttings but I don't know the name of it. I have been growing it for a few years now. My aunt loves that one and I always give her some plants, so I am calling it Renee's Coleus. Thanks for watching
@@floralnhardy7332 Oh Susie, you are a dear! I will have to grow a bright dark red coleus in a pot again and call it that! (Renee is one of my favorite names!)
Gorgeous gardens!! Do you remember which type of lamium you used? I love the color!
Sorry. I don't remember which lamium it is. Thanks for watching
💛💜
Thanks for watching
Stunning containers! I might have missed it, but what variety of caladiums do you have in the first containers with the begonias? Truly stunning!
Those caladiums are called White Queen. Thanks for watching
Those containers at front door are beautiful! Ive never seen that combo before. Once agian wrote another plant down the Tahitian Bridal Vail. What do you do with your turtle head? I had one plant for 4 years now and it has done nothing, not even doubled in size the pass 4 years. Its in full shade, should i move it into part shade, give it more light? Thanks for the tour 😍
I think I would move it into a little more sun and I think it likes moist soil the best. My turtle head gets between 4-6 hours of sun maybe. Thanks for watching
beautiful garden as always. super peaceful and i always end up watching a few times to catch all the goodness.
question - would you ever paint that sump pump pipe so it blends better? maybe a black/brown?
ps i know you said this may be your last tour but i hope it’s not!
No. I had never thought about painting it. Maybe because I have tripped over it so many times. If I paint it so it blends in, I would probably end up breaking my neck. Thanks for watching
Where did you get all the rocks you have in your garden beds ?
I got some rocks a long time ago from a farmer and a few years ago someone in my town had some rocks for free also. I didn't have to pay for any of them. Thanks for watching
Do u pinch your Autumn Joy Sedum? Mine is in dappled sun and it always flops and just looks awful!! If you pinch yours back, when do u do it?
No. I don't pinch it. It usually flops, but last year was so dry, so it did a little better.
Do you know that you have an extremely invasive and difficult to get rid of Bishops's Weed-also known as ground elder perennial, growing under your tree, next to your hosta?
Yes. I know I do
At 7minutes 14 seconds, the hosta name is dream weaver, I have one
Thanks for the name of the Hosta and for watching
Have you heard of Brun Ruh looks like giant Ru Barb?
Do you mean Gunnera? If so, I wish I could grow it, but it is hardy from a zone 7 and up. Thanks for watching
@@floralnhardy7332 NO ruclips.net/video/BjIz-rMzkag/видео.html pictures in video its good for our ZOne but have to have big space
@@floralnhardy7332 I am sorry Butter bur is the correct name time stamp 3151
Wow. I watched the link and that is pretty impressive. Looks like something out of Jurassic Park. Thanks for the info
@@floralnhardy7332 Its the Japenese one Your welcome
Is heuchera easy to grow from seed?
Palace Purple Heuchera has better germination than the other ones I grew. I always start my heuchera seeds in mid December. They are slow to germinate and may need a chill period in the fridge. I have had success without putting them in the fridge. They are slow to start, but grow pretty quickly once their roots get established. Thanks for watching
@@floralnhardy7332 Thanks for answering my question.
Ordering plants from mail-order companies, which one sends you the best bang for your buck??
I think I am most impressed with the perennials from Great Garden Plants. However, I am not impressed with the shrubs I got there. Very tiny, but they have a great selection. Thanks for watching
@@floralnhardy7332
Thank you!
Why does your audio click. I like watching you but it is annoying
I am sorry you find me annoying. I can't help it. It is the strap on my camera and I can't take it off and it isn't in the budget to get a new camera
so funny bc i actually love the click!! it’s weirdly relaxing to me
I actually dont hear the click, im so captivated by the beauty of your gardens!
