That was fast lol… thank you for the update. I ended up breaking my map beyond repair 😂. Like I mentioned in my comment on the other video, I added the 5 info layers and did all the xml stuff and it still wouldn’t work so I’m not sure what the problem was… sometimes I ponder on my life’s decisions and lately I’ve been wondering why I wanted to add more stress in my life by trying to learn how to build a map for this game lol.

Thanks for making this. I've updated the new files you included. Do you think there will ever be a fix for the large black shadow caused by the missing tile over one corner of the 4X map? Or is that a problem only Giants can fix?
Ooooh i forgot to check that.. will check it today. But the glitches in the editor been there and will stay there, giants diesnt care about that. We are hoping someone will fix the large map script soon, this sort the graphics glitches in the editor, but that shadow, i will check if its in game, then its a problem with the sun. 😊
@@FarmerBoBonRUclips Thanks for the info. Its definitely in game for me. Seems to effect the bottom right hand corner of the map from around mid day onwards. Edit. It definitely effects your new version of the X4 map for me. Around field 3 from mid day onwards. The large shadow moves with the camera,
ok yes it was just the sun.. open your map in the editor click on sun in the scenegraph.. in attribs window make the Y position of the sun 2400 save and test..
Hi Farmer Bob. I'm having an issue with your X4 starter map where Giants editor crashes if I try and paint trees near the edges of the map with the terrain mesh brush. It seems to work ok in one corner but not in the others. Very odd. I don't have planes or border meshes on my map so its not caused by that.

Oooh. Hope you havent placed any buildings or stuff on the terrain uet, then you can simply click on terrain and adjust the y to say 30, this should give you enough space below the map. 😊
Regarding my comment on shadow issues in the 4X map. I have found out in the editor when turning my view/profile/settings to medium from very high the shadow flakes vanished. I had them still in game but when turning down some shadow settings they too went away. I didnt turn anything off but rather lowered a shadow setting. I had this issue in someone elses 4x map I testet so it is not your map is faulty but I have no idea why I couldnt have the settings in editor on very high or my shadow settings on very high in game. Anyway..thats what I have found out and sorry if my comment suggested it was on you and your map. I have my editor profile settings on very high when using your 2X map and the shadow issue is not there then and my settings in game using your 2X map are also on very high and no shadow problems. Strange.
My my friend.. no worries at all. I spent an entire day with much frustration trying to find the problem in the map. There is definitely still an issue with the terraindetail layer. It is that which causes the weird shadow when you zoom far out. You can test on yours and let me know if its the same. Just dont save your map. Do the following.. Zoom far out, till you see the shadow, the select foliage paint mode, choose terraindetail and select any layer like cultivated or stubble etc. Then paint a few places where the shadow is. On mine it disappears. Close the map but dont save.. this diesnt resolve it in any way, its back after a restart. So let me know on this please. 😊 The second thing to do. This does help in some cases, ive tested this on other 4x maps with the shadow. So open in editor, click on sun, in attributes click on light, then in the type of light selection box are 3 types of lights, note which is defaukt for the sun, then simply togle the other 2 once. In other words select cone, then select the other and then lastly go back to default. Test the corners. Save the map. Let me know on this too. 😊
Did you make your own 4x map? Normally that problem relates to incorrect gdm size, so verify you 6 density file sizes are the same size and that they are the correct size for a 4x map. Just verify on my 4x for correct size, i think they shoukd be 8192x8192 but just verify

The shadow issue persists Bob. I thought it was only in your first release of 4x map but I just downloaded this 4 field multiplayer 4x map and the shadow in the edges is here too. Please keep us updated on this issue and if it can be fixed because as is now there is no point starting a big project. That shadow issue is just way too intrusive. Hope it can be fixed. I opened your 2x map and couldn't find the shadow issue there and sun was on Y-400 so don't really understand why you think Y-2400 would solve it in 4x map. You seem to think so to this day. Strange actually and makes me think you don't test things before you release. Sorry to say but that shadow issue is just a game braker.
@@FarmerBoBonRUclips They seem to be in the corner or the edges. Harder to see them on a flat pancake map but much easier when you have sculpted the map. I found them in editor and in game. The shadow flakes move when you move the camera so should be easy to see. I downloaded a 4x blank map from github from someone else and the shadow flakes was there too. What could it be? Do you remember in fs22 4x you had to do a small script to prepare the map before use...some kind of render issue. Ooh you need to unzip the map to open it in the editor. 😊 i normally unzip it straight into the mods folder then you can edit and test directly.😊

Hi Bob, I have a problem with the location icons on my PDA. My map is 4x but on my PDA it appears as if it is still at 2x size. Could you help me?

Check you have v2 of my 4x start map. Redownload and verify with the v2 map. 😊

Ok explain to me where the shadow is so i can check again, i did test i drove to each corner of the map and didnt see anything in game.

hi Kathryn... you need to unzip the download, then unzip the map aswell :)
