- It’s February 18, 1977 at 3:30 in the morning and the cast of Barney Miller is ready to shoot the last scene of the last episode of the second season. But Max Gail, who played Sergeant Wojohowicz, decides to have some fun at the last minute. Nothing more need be said. Just watch and enjoy an outtake from one of the best sitcoms ever. 170 episodes (all of them available on DVD) and almost of them little comedy gems IMHO.
Even though this show is 40+ years old, it holds up today. I still watch and enjoy it.

LOVE THIS! Lol never seen the cast not in character before. I love seeing these little glimpse behind the scenes. Getting to see the fun they all had with each other makes watching the show even better

Thanks! That was hilarious, I went looking for more fun and was happy to find this after I just finished watching the very last episode of the very last season of Barney Miller on Amazon Prime. It's currently available to watch for free to Prime members as of March 4, 2023. It was fun to be able to enjoy these shows all over again starting from season 1 - episode 1. I had a blast and recommend it highly.
We need more of this, because there's too much emphasis on the future, not enough of the past
Max told me he remembers that and still doesn’t know why there was a rubber chicken on the set! LOL
I believe, though I'm not sure, that it was used when Nick was given the task by Barney to do an inventory of everything in the squadroom and it was just thrown in there. The one where he was looking for a first base mitt but it was a typo for first aid kit. I will have to check out that episode.

Danny Arnold was such a perfectionist, he would keep the cast working till the wee hours of the morning and do scenes over and over again.
I hear there were some pretty funky moments like this.

I think those were actually made of a blend of vinyl. My mother had one, except with a white fluffy collar. It was found last year and we donated it to the thrift store.
