A dog saved my life... when I had given up and hope was gone. A rescue dog that no one wanted and was going to be put down saved my life. God gave me a best friend with 4 legs
That is awesome. Dogs are Angels!
Hello!
Thank you for your comment! Dogs can be better than a therapy. I know what I'm talking about! 😃 And I'm glad that this dog has had a positive impact on your life. That's wonderful! We could make a movie about it. That'd be great.
It's quite sad and strange that some countries put dogs down if no one wants them. We don't do that in France. Even so, I believe there are some places in the USA where they don't do that either, right?
Dogs are beautiful they do not judge they love. I miss mine.
Beautiful!❤
I am Japanese. I used to have a female Great Den. The time I spent living with my beloved dog is the best memory of my life. I cried just by looking at the preview. He was a really good boy.
Two years ago, I adopted two Yorkies from a friend who had died of cancer and asked me to take care of them. One of them is 14 years old, and for the first six months, he cried every single night, missing his human mom. My friend had him since he was a puppy. The other one is a 3-year-old (now) female that my friend got when she was told she was cancer-free. It was very challenging to earn the affection of both dogs, who had lost their human mom, their home, and moved to a different house with two other dogs. But it was worth it. I have six dogs, five of them rescued from sad conditions or neglect, and they live a good life at my house now. I love them as my own kids!
That's a lot of dogs! What a great person you are looking after those 2 dogs for yr friend 😊
im sorry about your friend passing away.
I was depressed for 2 years after the passing of my dog of 15 years.
Then gradually i adopted 3 stray dogs (each with their own sad story). Now they are lying in my room beside me, sleeping peacefully.
Life seems liveable once again.
Wonderful !
When I came home from a 2 month stay in the hospital, the first thing I did was lay on the couch with my English pit bull dog Momo and it was the happiest day of my life. I couldn’t even think about how eye felt without me, because I knew how I felt without her.
OMG, I am already sobbing!!! as a teenager, my brother had a great dane, just like Bing, her name was STAR!! she was spectacular, sweet and humongous!! they are family, can't wait to see this movie!!!!
Dog-centric films always renders me to tears and yet here I am, excited to see this. 🤦♀
As an owner of two Great Danes now and many in the past….I approve of this movie. 😊
Yes! I've had four Danes, and they are the best dogs. I hope the movie is as good as the book.
I have (had) two Great Danes also. My Oreo went to Heaven last April 💔😔
I can tell that most Great Dane humans are really stoked to see this movie, and are already in love with Bing. I do believe a LOT of people are going to see what wonderful Dogs they are. I just hope that it doesn't cause a surge of a lot of bad irresponsible people gaining ownership and a month later decide they don't love them anymore and abandon them. There are WAY too many Great Danes needing foster homes as we speak.
@texasrockshillcountry6574 awe, sorry you lost your baby. I hadn't thought about people adopting because of the movie. I hope people do their research first.
Они как дети,отказаться от них-равносильно отдать ребенка в приют. Это большая ответственность.
Ok
When my friend rescued a puppy for my daughter’s fifteenth birthday I was so upset! I didn’t want a dog around messing up my house and my life! But after a week I was hooked! Now after many years I have welcomed 11 rescues some 4 at a time and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I just love all of them! Pets are our angels from heaven!🤎🤍🐶🙏🏻
@@dianemarcakis4624 not just pets. All animals are. So we shouldn’t torture and eat some of them.
Life is better with dogs. 😊
Well said!!
@@dwarf1234 do you know why veganism gets a bad rap? Because some vegans wear their diet like a crown. Get over yourself.
I lost my 2nd Great Dane a year ago and he was my soul dog. I miss him terribly. There is nothing like the love of a Great Dane. They are just simply the best. To know them is to love them.
My soul dog was a brindle Dane named Jack. It's been 3 years without him, and I'll always miss him. Here's to those who have known the great love of a great dog. ♡
I'm on my fourth Dane they are wonderful dogs. I've never been without a dog so I have cried many many tears but I can't be without a fur baby. 💔
I cried thru this trailer - can't imagine watching the movie but I want to!❤
Lost my Mom in '18 very suddenly. She worked with older rescues and left me with 2 dogs, 3 cats. I'm down to just a cat now. It's amazing how grief can become a binding force. I learned a lot from each of them and I'm putting off seeing this flick because I know I'll be a mess 🤣
This is a trip for me because growing up, my best friend in the beautiful Oakland hills in this Mediterranean mansion had two white with black spots great danes just like this. I can still remember every time we got there, they would come up this narrow stair case from the garage and street, making it crowded to come down with their tails slapping the walls and us. Hilarious. What memories and incredible creatures. 🎉
Cheers, Bill & Naomi.
This dog lives in my town ❤️❤️ he’s beautiful
Let me guess - In Pennsylvania! That's the Great Dane capital of the United States! The Great Dane is the official Dog of Pennsylvania!
He’s a good boy 🐾
Harlequin Great Dane. A beautiful handsome boy
No he’s not. His ears are cropped. People are sick.
WoW that's just great.
This is a movie I actually want to see! I have not felt that way about ANY movie in a long time. None of them felt worthy of my time and energy. This one does.
Me too!
Same
Same here
I rarely go to the theatres but I might go for this one
I'm in!! Can I bring my dog?❤
“THE FRIEND”
I saw this movie today and I recommend it for anyone seeking relief from the steady diet of “Super Hero” movies (with explosions galore) that we are being force fed by Hollywood. However don’t be misled by the trailers that gives one the impression that this is a warm-hearted comedy. To be sure, there are some comedic moments in the film, but most of them are showcased in the previews.
It’s warm-hearted but there’s more drama than comedy. Which doesn’t distract from the fact that this is a fine film. Lots of serious issues that make up the human experience are portrayed. Naomi Watts, Bill Murray and Bing (the dog) are great. And (dare I say it?) Murray deserves a nomination for “Best Supporting Actor”. However the film definitely drifts into “tearjerker territory” so be ready if you choose to go see it. But see it soon because the number of showings since its wide release on April 4th have been drastically cut back, indicating that it won’t be in theatres too much longer. But you can also watch it when it inevitably gets streamed.
Thanks for your comment. Have to admit I only gave it 20 minutes - and still no dog. Just a bit slow - maybe I'll have to give it another go. (was able to watch free online) Regards (New Zealand)
My dogs just got back from the groomers... it's one hour one way and takes 4-5 hours and they came home with cute heart handkerchiefs around their neck. Hunter and Hannah are Irish Red Setters, silly fun and full of love, even at 8 and 11, so much energy and their eyes tell it all..
We don’t deserve dogs. But I’m grateful we have them ❤
2:29 second trailer and I'm tearing up.
Me 2
I'm already crying!
We already know the inevitable...
me too
*passes around a couple boxes of tissues * 🫂🫂
Really enjoyed this movie. Better than I could imagine. Each character was real, likeable. The cinematography was great. The dog as Apollo was believable, endearing. I even loved the super and the therapist.
A fabulous book. Hopeful for the film.
They were in St. Vincent together, now reunited!
Yay. 💙
I AM ALREADY CRYING - I CANT WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE
THIS IS MY STORY - ACTUALLY THIS IS SO MANY PEOPLE'S STORY
MUTUAL RESCUE - AN ANIMAL HELPS US EXPOSE OUR DEEPEST FEARS AND COMFORTS US
Had harlequin Dane too. My Shirley girl saved me. RIP big girl. Going to be a great movie!
it looks like a film from early 2010s, like it already!
This film looks amazing! I like to feel moved by a film and this trailer had me in tears! I am really looking forward to seeing the film soon.
My Great Dane got some lovin after watching this
As a dog lover, and the owner of four a wholeheartedly approved this movie
Can't wait to see this movie. That cast is fabulous. Carla Gugino, Constance Wu, Ann Dowd, and the great Naomi Watts.
Really hoping my local cinema in Bermuda brings this, I love Great Danes, and any work of Naomi
I wish Josh Pais and Noma Dumezweni were included in the cast list at the end, but great trailer and I'm so looking forward to this film!
This looks life-affirming--we need more stuff like this right now. Can't wait to see it in the theatre.
Tears are already here. Bring it on. 😪
I have two great danes, I'll never get another breed. They're the best.
As the owner of 2 Great Danes, I must see this movie! Luckily we live in a small house but have 20 acres.
Aw
wonderful way to tell a story. Dogs are life
You are spot on! Dogs are way beyond life too bad most humans don't know that
Bill Murray is a treasure ❤
Naomi looks amazing. ❤❤❤ love her
The trailer had me bawling... the movie is going to kill me, lol
Exactly how I feel! I'll just remember to bring a box of tissues. :)
Looks sweet, I had to take my grandmas kitty in after she died recently. Also love the Sharon Van Etten song
❤❤❤
I’m a Great Dane owner and i’m so happy to see, that there’s coming out a Movie with a GD soon. Best Dogs in the World!
Just was made aware of this movie today and I am ready. Will definitely see opening weekend
I really want to see this film, it looks great, and no that wasn't a pun.
Lovely movie. Slow but keep you interested. Great actors. Nice flic, especially for dog lovers. I didn't know that Great Dane are so intelligent. They look majestic. You don't know what they are thinking behind those sad eyes but I suspect that they know what we are. A none violent film for a change. More please.
I grew up with Great Danes. All dog breads are different in temperament and personality. Great Danes, unless abused, are big ok Ginormous Chihuahuas. They will, without hesitation, jump onto your lap and try to lay down. The trailer was good. I will see the movie.
I approve and I always have my fur babies in my will. ❤❤
Bing is a very good dog.
As a Great Dane owner (actually, he owns me), there's nothing like the love and affection of a GD. Looks like a great movie. My only concern is, just like when 101 dalmatians came out, everyone wanted one. Then reality set in. Danes are NOT EASY. They take training, patients, and above all, love. And for the love of God, get droole rags!!!
Awe....100% agree - I bawled like a baby even before I saw the trailer because I just lost my Harlequin (who was a rescue at 2YO) a few weeks ago at 11-1/2. I had two others boy litter mates prior to her who lived to the same age. SUPER loyal and loving dogs. Expanding on what you said - that is scary and I pray it doesn't happen. People wanting a Dane have to be prepared and they in no way come as trained and docile as that GD in the movie! And no they are NOT apartment dogs. They were breed to hunt wild boar and guard country estates originally. I absolutely love the breed but if you get one that is aggressive it can be a liability. MOST behave re-actively - so they don't start a fight, but they will finish it AND win. I have seen them shake a Boxer like a rag doll....small dogs and cats stand no chance. The stupid adds showing a Great Dane and Chihuaha are ridiculous. My latest was kid aggressive due to whatever happened to her before I rescued her and she was very protective of me so I was always aware of making sure when people came to our house that they were good... No quick actions and have to tell people NOT get in her face, though that should be common sense...but it isn't. Even had a neighbor who's older Dane all of the sudden turned on one of their small dogs and killed it. People need to know they can be a lot of work and often costly to train & maintain......other than that they are awesome dogs...LOL. Clear your tables and get ready to have a giant shadowing you everywhere you go!
@Lucky_Lucy30 , our s is a brindle boy, will be 10 this July. We were not prepared when we got him, but got a crash couse right away. Love him like a child.
As someone who has never owned a dog, this is very emotional
See it tomorrow afternoon with my dad❤
GOTTA see this
This trailer brought a tear to my eye.....
Just saw this 🎥 yesterday loved 🥰 it
Oh, I cant wait to see this!!!!!
Bill Murray in anything? I watch.. Put the story around a dog?!! Solid watch. ❤
Just read the book. It's short but excellent.
Beautiful 😢
Wow bill murray is one of the greatest
This is like a spiritual sequel to the Spanish film: Truman.
I love movies like this. So heartwarming. There is a tv show that I am hooked on, because the main star is a dog. The show is shot in Newfoundland, Canada. Its called Hudson and Rex. Its just finished its 7th season, and I think there might be an 8th season. The only unfortunate thing is that the dog that played Rex recently passed away, but his canine family will help take over the role of Rex. The dog's name was Diesel Vom Burgimwald.
❌I love that she cared enough to figure out a tough situation
That’s what real friends do
The song is from Sharon Van Etta- Every time the sun comes up (Alternate version)
Have to add this one to my list to check out🐶🐾📽❤ Naomi Watts and Bill Murray
It is a great movie.
Younger people watching this movie might not realize they inserted a song from Midnight Cowboy and one from Casablanca😮
I saw this movie I honestly really liked it.
Ok this looks really good
I see cropped ears and doubt you have a brain.
Really looking forward to seeing this. I'm a big fan of Naomi Watts and now I've already fallen in love with Bing. I know I'll be crying, but that's okay!
My mom had 2 yorkies when she became il! She made me promise to keep them from being seperated. They are not very bright but very cute and spoiled.
Sublime.
I see a cute doggo I click
I need to see this 🎥
Where can I watch this 😢
hey its the Rookie Feds guy, really like that actor, sad he wasnt even mentioned or credited, this video will probably break our hearts then pulverize it to pieces, exactly what i like..
cant wait to see.
See it April,6 with my dad
Love Carla , Bill and Naomi
Now Bing
Que bueno que vuelvan este tipo de guiones al cine, estamos hartos de cultura progre en las pantallas. Próximamente se estrenará The penguin lesson. Una historia real de la amistad de un profesor con un pingüino rescatado.
It seems like a mix of "Marley & Me" and "Lost in Translation"
The only dog I had was from ages 4-13..it was an old English sheepdog ..he was a gift from my dad's boss..my dog passed away in 1981...not a day goes by I don't think about him.....
The phone app at AMC in LA area is not showing that this movie is playing-only on the desktop-probably why all the showings are empty-please fix
I'm with Nolan & Tarantino. Shoot more movies on film. This looks like it was shot on an iPhone 4.
I hope Bing doesn't die in the movie 😢😢
Bill Murray confirmed on the Howard Stern show that Bing lives.
It's all too, um melancholic, the scenes for the trailer. Also, added to it, that *The Friend* the human, is made to feel all so guilty for being apprehensive about how to be the unselfish caretaker...could be better☺
As an owner of a Great Dane that's a Harlequin and giant breed only live up to 8-10 years.
This movie should have a trigger warning/disclaimer if the dog ends up dying.
Everyone is talking about their dogs, the rest of us just wanting to know if it was a good movie or not!!
Just saw it last night. It was a very good movie….
I'm only here for Bill Murray ❤
Me and my girls want to see this but we gonna be in 😢😢😢 like MARLEY AND ME ❤
I love Naomi Watts and love animals definitely my type of movie.
This is an absolute! Dogs master our lives.
Naomi Watts was underrated actor.
i have a cat, shes supposed to be my emotional support pet, but i think i might be her emotional support human. also i got her when she was 9. a family had her all her life, and then just brought her to a shelter. in the very begining it was stressful for her, because if she was asleep even on couch, if i wasnt there when she woke up, she would meow and meow and meow. even though i was basically always home. she rarely does it now. and also im not allowed to be in a room alone. its against the rules. she has to either be here in the closed room with me, or the door has to be open. who made these rules, she did. if the door is closed she will meow and meow. a few times in the past she would some how bang on the door or body slam it ? i dont know what she did but there was a thump as is saying open up or else. >:l
I’ve heard Great Danes are good apartment dogs since they’re happy to lounge and require less exercise than other larger breeds
what is the awesome song in this trailer starting at the 50 second-mark?
Not quite hachi, but I'll give it a watch.
This is the trailer and I’m crying. I’ll need to bring Kleenex when I go
I could never watch this and get through it 😢can’t do dog movies anymore
i get it. i used to have a dog named prissy for nearly 20 years and this coming october, it'll be the 10th anniversary of her passing. a year and a day later, my cat smokey died.
@@thevoid99 I’m so sorry.. it’s the hardest thing there is. Losing a pet is much harder than losing any person (except maybe a child or parent) they love us unconditionally and are always there. People aren’t conditioned to be that loyal to another
Awww!
Naomi has aged so well
