Feels a bit like Tom had literally just got off the plane from Japan when he was bundled into the studio, bleary eyed and jet lagged, and instructed to ‘do an intro’.
You drag your luggage through the terminal, exhausted after an eighteen hour flight. You load your bag into the back of a nearby taxi and, settling into the back seat, ask to be taken home. But as you sit there, bleary-eyed, through the haze in your mind, you notice the driver is taking some odd turns. He isn't taking you home. He's taking you to the office. The driver notices your dire epiphany, and you see him turn in his seat to look at you, a haunting look in his eyes. A shiver runs down your back as you realise you recognise him - it's Ben. "The people demand an intro, Tom," he whispers through bared teeth. Will you succumb to the demands of the audience despite your sleep-deprived state? Or are you on a mystery quest!?
@ no rolls barred, they play board games and table top rpgs like dnd and call of cthulu, I would highly recommend there call of cthulu series, start from the first vid “the kiss of the fish man”
@@owenleach7778 just to clarify - 'kiss of the fishman' is on the nrb ttrpg sister channel, 'chaotic neutral'. there is a very good playthrough of call of cthulhu on the main nrb channel as well though, i can't recommend it highly enough! definitely watched the whole thing at least 4-5 times now!
Before you watch Kiss of the Fishman on Chaotic Neutral, go over to No Rolls Barred and watch their three-vid series of their first Call of Cthulu - it's a six-player game, it sets up Dom's whole Cthulu series on Chaotic Neutral (he builds a connected story across 5 or 6 games), and it's in costume. IMO, it's the very best of all the Cthulu that crew has played. Also, they did a 2-episode Red Dread Redemption (Dread, in a Western setting) and a 2-episode Honey Heist on NRB. (This was all before Chaotic Neutral spun off as the RPG arm of NRB.)

*Spoilers* The moment Tom said Billy and Hera were in a lake I instantly knew someone was going to get dragged down underwater, loving the Slasher tropes! Also Billy's hit seduction single is genuinely getting stuck in my head.. Bro~ I love u~~
I love the REAL mystery quest intro but I do imagine it being one of the more difficult aspects of the video. I wouldn't see harm in him sourcing them from comments and then adding the screenshot of it with the writer afterwards. Then you COULD be in a mystery quest.
You know it's not the same as the old intros but I do appreciate that little bit at the beginning. I also like the bit after the intro where we get like a little side NPC update of you know the main character. It very much reminds me of the old Yogsquest videos where you would have interviews cut in throughout the action on a series. Those were so much fun I would not mind if those came back. Could be Tom was just a bit tired, or could be that he doesn’t enjoy writing the intros as much as we enjoy watching them. 😢 Still great content, with or without the offbeat intros.

" You wait tense on the edge of the table you have been strapped to. Every nerve tingling waiting for your little death that will sweep over your body when you will finally know ...... or are you on a ?
I desperately want Malachiah to get a hero's death. He needs to go out holding the killer back while Mack escapes. Mack hears a single wolf's howl as he stumbles off into the woods, thankful that Malachiah was such an awesome bro.
