Honestly I find it interesting how in favor terraria is until the very top for powerscaling-- terrarians are godlike in power compared to the survivors-- the fuelweaver even is nothing compared to most bosses in terraria-- though, at the very top powerwise for terraria, without mods, it's moon lord-- a threat which can likely destroy planets if not for terrarians being OP and able to stop him-- which seems like and is a lot-- until we put moon lord up against Them, who have universal (and possibly multidimensional) level powers based on what is known of them lorewise-- (they created the nightmare throne, whoever is in it is just their puppet really as evidenced by charlie, and even then that person can create and destroy worlds seemingly with little effort besides annoyance (adventure modes story), also, based on the fact Them made the nightmare throne/lock, and the hands that grab you and force you into it upon beating adventure mode, it's safe to say they likely have something to do with nightmare fuel too-- which also means they may have had something to do with making the ancients as a species go poof minus the two that got fully corrupted by the fuel
@@jamesegg7372 Ah, I've been meaning to look into the mod aspect of things tbh-- I personally like the idea of super powerful beings kinda weaving the story-- Them in DST are kinda like outer gods in elden ring-- even incredibly powerful beings such as gods (ones that have physical bodies/forms, even if damn near indestructible, like the dusk eyed queen) know damn well do **not** fuck with the outer gods, they will absolutely ruin you if you try, and without story spoilers in case you do play the game, I will say vaguely, things went horridly wrong for the one god who did try to rebel against the "outer gods", if fargos has an aspect thats kinda similar but, a logical enough build up or progression story as to why you could possibly challenge beings in control of everything such as those, would def be interesting to see/look into
@@anonymousmink5027 no story, only hell, and pure power. also i read this whole thing and it made no sense because i havent played elden ring. edit: well there isnt really any gods in the mod. theres things that are similarly powerful, but even if i havent played elden ring, i get the feeling that nothing in the mod would stand up to the outer gods.
@@jamesegg7372 Still may look into it tbh, mostly brought up the metaphor as in your original comment you said in the mod you kill them over and over, getting stronger, which I mistook as "Them" from DST for a second, it's a bit weird but, yeah, the most powerful entities in DST are literally just known as "Them", like, thats the cannonical name, and have powers similar to outer gods in elden ring hence I tried the metaphor as elden rings a bit more of a popular game recently (basically though, since the metaphor did kinda miss, in DST lore, "Them" created an entire parallel dimension/universe, ripped normal humans from "the real world" you and I live in and put them in the warped world of "The Constant" for entertainment) and I was kinda surprised/curious to know if any terraria mods had actually gotten to that scale of like, the end game being you up against beings of the same power as "Them" in DST

They'd never be able to kill the wielder in combat so it would be a rush to destroy all the resources to starve them out.
The Terrarian must have nerves of steel, like "yeah Wilson I'm sure the dark is pretty spooky for you, I went into a cave made of flesh and swung a hammer at a beating heart only for the walls to start screaming at me"
The thing is, the dark has a god that is ACTUALLY a god and not just called a god. Yes, there is a difference there. And the god is omnipresent in the dark, and can almost instantly kill you or break your armor, and then kill you if you don't have a light source. Oh and also you can't attack it?

Wilson seeing how he destroyed the boss left him with permanent trauma would be great the continuation
Honestly I find it interesting how in favor terraria is until the very top for powerscaling-- terrarians are godlike in power compared to the survivors-- the fuelweaver even is nothing compared to most bosses in terraria-- though, at the very top powerwise for terraria, without mods, it's moon lord-- a threat which can likely destroy planets if not for terrarians being OP and able to stop him-- which seems like and is a lot-- until we put moon lord up against Them, who have universal (and possibly multidimensional) level powers based on what is known of them lorewise-- (they created the nightmare throne, whoever is in it is just their puppet really as evidenced by charlie, and even then that person can create and destroy worlds seemingly with little effort besides annoyance (adventure modes story), also, based on the fact Them made the nightmare throne/lock, and the hands that grab you and force you into it upon beating adventure mode, it's safe to say they likely have something to do with nightmare fuel too-- which also means they may have had something to do with making the ancients as a species go poof minus the two that got fully corrupted by the fuel
yeah... with mods, you kill them over and over and over again, becoming more powerful each time you do it (fargos, not calamity).
@@anonymousmink5027 in the vanilla game you do kill cthulu's brother, so maybe? before we talk about these things in comaprison to Them, we should try to figure out exactly how powerful They are.
Basically: terraria players have access to explosives and heavy weaponry
