Hey Cookie I grew up with the rule of not wearing white shoes and certain clothing after Labor Day too… however in the early 2000’s I was with my zany Sister who lived in Cali at the time and we went to a Dolce & Gabana outlet where I found The Best pointed toe white sling back shoes that I still rock to this very day ❤❤❤ when I purchased them it was early spring before the weather changed and I put them on with all black outfit and never looked back!!! I got so many compliments that evening with my sister and it shut her up about the rules 😄 I had to make sure that they were still in my luggage before I went home 😅
You nailed every look as usual. As a “big footed” girl I still struggle with styling white shoes and not feeling like all eyes are being drawn to my feet 🥴. I only have a couple pair of white sandals and one pair of ivory boots that I love and always struggle with styling. I’m going to embrace some of your tips and incorporate them in unexpected ways. My struggle color to style is orange 🍊.

I think it’s because when I was younger the older ladies at church would wear white pumps with too dark pantyhose LOL and no matter what that’s what I envisioned when I thought about buying any. Way back in the days, early 90's, my sister worked in retail in NYC. She worked as a sales associate at a sample shoe sale at the Omni Hotel (I might be wrong about the hotel) that sold various brands of shoes for dirt cheap. She came home with a pair of white pumps, and I fell in love with them. I was in junior high school, trying to figure out how to wear those shoes. The heal was probably 3 or 3 1/2 inches high. What I loved about them was, there were circular holes in the front and on the sides of the shoes, in varying sizes. The leather was so supple and the shoes were well made. This video brought me back to those memories. Thank you for the styling tips.
I think what makes it difficult are the types of white shoes. A lot of times I see people wear a white sneaker with black/brown panthy hose and it looks very...as if something is missing. I think the sheerness of the p.h. plays a role for why people have a difficult time styling them. Same for brown shoes, I think that white shoes are such an extreme to for ex. black. It highlights the outfit a lot IMO which makes it more challenging.
Hi Carolyn, you made some great styles to go with white shoes. I only wear white shoes in the form of sneakers. For me yellow is a hard color to wear. I don’t have a lot of it. I would like to see you style up some yellow pieces.
I used to have a pair of ivory ankle strap spectator pumps with a black patent leather cap toe that I absolutely LOVED. I would wear them with a beautiful ivory roll neck dress (talk about a MOMENT!) or wide leg black pinstripe pants. Sadly, after 15+ years they were falling apart and I had to let them go.

I was reluctant to rock white shoes until finding a cute pair of mules with a wooden heel that goes with almost everything and truly is neutral. That leopard coat was chef's kiss and I realized the spots were hearts at the same moment you said it lol. I also recently realized wearing gray (near my face) just does not work for me which sucks because I love that shade as a neutral. It gives my skin this ashy 'dead' look but as soon as I change the fit, I'm glowing. It's so weird.

Back in the cookie jar. Hey guys! I was born in the early 60s in GA and that was a serious thing the whole wearing of white. The sign of it was time getting our white patent leather shoes with matching purse for Easter and you wore them to church or special dress up events through the summer. So this is going to be a hard teach a old dog new trick moment. I usually just wear my white summer shoes with garments for that season that has some white in them. Awe this is a dry run on the styling, how exciting (notepad ready). Oh my Oh my white pumps that just would be so hard for me to jump into because it does pull me back to the women going to church revival and the ushers at church uniform footwear. I got a closer look at those LV pumps and they no grandma shoe (I like them) but stark white is harsh and can make the foot look big, like Minnie mouse footwear. Your first look (I almost scream but still dealing with being sick, so hoarse) with the stripe suit and ballet slipper, so going to try this out but the shoes are a white flat loafer with black trim and sole with an H&M suit of brown/navy stripes (almost a dup but pants leg is ankle length. I have some pointed toe white cowboy boots that I have had for at least 4 years now, a DSW clearance rack buy but have not worn them yet and I am totally going to do the Canadian tuxedo denim on denim look and use the boots. I do have bone/off-white/cream color shoes and boots but they are more easily styled because of the warm tones. I am definitely guilty of wearing a trench coat as a dress a few times. 😉 My favorite look in this one is the dark denim jeans with the blazer but it also the one I am most afraid of because of possible color transfer on to the white shoes. You have given me some great ideas for attending (hopefully I am feeling better) a friend birthday celebration coming up next weekend. Shoes that I have but have not worn because of their what I think is their limitation is floral print shoes. I have loved white shoes but yes they've been hard 4 me 2 style. I even bought a pair of BOSS white pumps years ago but never wore them. I gave them away about a year ago because they were too small now. In that I realized how timeless they are because they still are Boss. I don't wear that size heal anymore but many do. I'm really struggling to style my new emerald green Givenchy shark lock booties. I've worn them with skinny jeans and Karen Brit Chic's tan asymmetrical cropped button down shirt from her Amazon drop. It was super cute but relaxed. I've also worn them with the Athropologie Porridge Short-Sleeve Denim Swing Mini Dress for a cute look. Also, I wore them with my camos tucked into the booties with a black leather corset top and denim jacket. Aesthetically they would be fire with short shorts or a mini skirt but i dont have the thights to pull it off. But that's all I got! Help!!!!
The only white shoes I have EVER had in my entire life are white nike or addidas, and even then, they were never all white, they'd have the blue or yellow nike check or three stripes. I would never wear all white tennis shoes, and I would never wear white dress shoes of any kind, boots included. I've always seen them as too conservative looking, or something my mom would wear. And it's not that I don't like them on other people, they're just not me.

White anything reminds me of LisaRaye and her all-white but, honestly other then a pair of Ked's... I don't think I have ever had white shows.

The only white shoes I have EVER had in my entire life are white nike or addidas, and even then, they were never all white, they'd have the blue or yellow nike check or three stripes. I would never wear all white tennis shoes, and I would never wear white dress shoes of any kind, boots included. I've always seen them as too conservative looking, or something my mom would wear. And it's not that I don't like them on other people, they're just not me.

Its rare that I wear white shoes. I can style the hell out of white sandals but white shoes?!?!😬 Well this was very helpful. That all brown look and the fringe and denim looks as well as the suit styling made me pause. As always thanks for the ideas- im about to steal.🫣🫣🫣🫣
