I'm at the point in my life in stepping out in becoming a published author. I'm so nervous and excited. I'm in the process of self publishing my first children's book and in the process of revising my first YA SFF which will hopefully be ready to query by the end of summer. I'm thrilled to be getting published in two magazines this month and in June. It seems to be the time. Thank you for this video. So encouraging.
I'm so glad you found it helpful. Cheering for you!
Thanks for sharing!
Glad to help!
I've had a draft completed and have taken my first steps. Your words definitely had an impact on me. I'm relatively new to even thinking about publishing. But i have booked a call with a Scholastic Publishers representative to see what i can do next.
So happy our content has been helpful. Just remember that a real traditional publisher pays you, not the other way around!
@@AtHomeAuthor Noted. Also, I read Magic Words, it definitely is an amazing book
Does Scholastic only do children's books? Should i give up my dream of them publishing my YA Sci-fi/Fantasy? I REALLY wanted my work amongst those nistalgic book fairs 😂
Scholastic does YA!
Publishers say you need an agent to get published.
Some publishers you need an agent, others you don't (: It depends on the Publishing House
But what if you don't want to illustrate your own books? How do you find an illustrator without losing half of your profits 📈?
Most children's book authors aren't illustrators themselves. We have tons of videos that go into further detail.
