I grew up in California, my pops would drive us 45 mins away just to get safe n sane fireworks! He started my pyro addiction 🤟
I also love the howling sound effect. I bought a few packs Screaming Banshee Rockets by Miracle Fireworks and they are cool. They go up Howling looking like a comet then have a decent break. Even small Texas pop rocket size rocket that howl are cool. Screamers by Big and Screaming Dragons are nice little rockets for the Howling effect.

I'm not feeling it either this year, on a thurs, weather is sketch up here, couldnt get the week off, local prices for product is just laughable and depressing.. still bought a little bit, but im leaning on my backlog of stash.. then like you said we only got at best 3hrs to shoot before 12am and we gotta stop... so it seems like every year, night gets shorter and shorter to shoot.. next year 4th will be on a friday so i think it'll be better for all of us, prices, stashes, and time to shoot.
