dan blocker was is and will be a super great actor even though he is not among us he was a kind, loving and respectful person forever a great teacher DAN BLOCKER
Dan Blocker must have been a person with a huge heart for all people he met and worked with . He sure did the role of Eric Hoss Cartwright superb , shows like Bonanza is timeless , ty for the upload , regards from sweden.
My grandmother is buried at Woodman and she was 2 years behind Bobby Dan Blocker in school. She and some of the other bratty kids called Bobby Dan "Fatty," but he never got mad. The school they attended was destroyed by a tornado in 1999. DeKalb was named by Davey Crockett, in honor of a French officer who fought in the American Revolution. Singer and TV star Rickey Nelson died in a plane crash just outside of DeKalb.
Thanks Otrt for the interesting video visit to the cemetery. I had just posted 2 questions about DB on another video and you so eloquently answered them for me on your video.
Actually, Dan could not control his eating---he was always big as in overweight. When he was born he held the record for largest baby born in the county for years. The doctor asked him to lose weight before the gall bladder surgery and he did lose some but not enough. Normally that surgery is easy and not death threatening however with his excess weight around that area as well as his whole body he was at high risk. NO one killed him for the reason you stated or they would have had to kill many others who were outspoken at the time. It is interesting to note that the times we are seeing now has proven him wrong on every level with China.
I love watching Bonanza. To me Dan Blocker Hoss made the show what it is. I miss him. Rest in peace Dan. I can't wait to see you in Heaven when I die! Thank you for letting us see where he is buried.
I really appreciate this video. I know I was shocked and heart broken when this wonderful actor and man had passed away so young. He was a true star by every measure. Rest in peace, Dan.
Hoss Cartwrght....Dan Blocker was the man....I love Bonanza....I remember when he passed many years ago....I believe in the 70's.🙏💜Rest easy Dan aka Hoss....the narrator of this video sounds a little like Mr Haney on Green Acres.
Dan Blocker played a bad guy in the Frank Sinatra film Tony Rome- Lady in Cement it was the sequel film to his first Tony Rome. He played a pretty good bad guy. Lol.
What?!?! You didn’t go to Ricky Nelson’s crash site while you were in DeKalb? Also, not too far from this cemetery was the remnants of the plane from the crash site. I still have my photos somewhere that I took of Hoss’ gravesite.
Hoss always reminded me of Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986), he would have been perfect as Leatherface; (that part was played by another husky Texan Bill Johnson) of course the 1960's Dan Blocker
I know that was his hometown, but a lonely place to end, I would think though Forrest Lawn would been a fit place as well, he had so many fans, totally understand
When Dan was in the military he saved four men from being killed he hurt doing it he had pain in his left hand. Because of what he did to save each man for rest of his life he took meds for the pain
@@oldtimeroadtrip dan blocker became a teacher for years l know a friend of my his wife was a student of dan blocker when he doing bonanza he would on different days have lunch with former students on the set of bonanza she has a picture of him which he signed two years Before he died on set of bonanza she got to meet the cast of bonanza with dan blocker
Dan’s family is alive and well. Both sons, Dirk and David are Hollywood producers. Dirk was on “Little House on the Prairie” as a student for Caroline Ingalls. Landon brought in Dirk on that show, because of his memory of his dear friend, Dan. Dolphia is still alive and is currently 91 years old. She will be buried beside Dan, if she passes.

Good old Dan,

He rode a horse, and kicked some ass,
And never gave Pa, a lick of sass!

Mrs. Blocker had to see how she first lost her daughter, then her husband and then her son. What she must have been through is hardly imaginable.
