and what is truly fascinating is that the reason he could not witness Haku’s sacrifice and Zabuza’s redemption was that he had done those very things himself to protect Naruto. The video formulates it better, but it feels like Sasuke pushed Naruto into the light, and that led him to falling in the shadow

I wished him staying with taka, people whom he chosed and sometime maybe even see them as a family because everyone of taka lost their families like sasuke did but they dealt differently with that. There is even that panel where suigetsu comes to sasuke when sasuke questing who he is and then jugo and suigetsu enters. It means he us Uchiha sasuke from Team Taka and suigetsu had that roll and said " we takkes will rule over the shinobies". Sasuke is the best written character in Naruto, and one of the best in all manga/anime in my opinion. He's the most human when compared to characters like Naruto, Kakashi, Rock Lee, etc. He's been through so much, that he no longer feels hope, nor hapiness. He only feels anger and pain, so he acts like most of us would, he lets his emotions control him. People love to praise Naruto, Kakashi, Lee, Itachi, Hashirama, etc. But the truth is that we would probably act like Sasuke, Madara or Nagato if we went through half the sh1t that happened in these guys' lifes.

I love the fact that Shippuden ended with Sasuke's words of wisdom and acceptance during the conversation with Naruto. (" I didn't think that you'd be coming to see me off. You sacrificed your arm to stop me. Thanks to you I found salvation. We were insignificant little things that used to clash. And now we're able to share each other's pain. And after journeying along and seeing the world, I've realized something. This isn't just about you and me, I belive this concept can be applied to even bigger things than just us. It's kind of like a prayer, to keep enduring until it comes to be no matter what. And to those upon whom that task falls, perhaps that's what it means to be a Ninja." - Sasuke) ☯️

This is why I love Sasuke and find him one of the best characters in Naruto. When presented with new information he doesn't stubbornly cling to an outlook like many flanderize his character as doing. In Part 1 he is genuinely conflicted between following the path of revenge or the path of camaraderie. His singular purpose of vengeance against his brother gives way to essentially an existential crisis as everything he believed about Itachi and the leaf village were lies thus necessitating a complete abandonment of some pretty fundamental foundations of Sasuke's beliefs. By the end of the series Sasuke's horizons broaden from I have to end Itachi to I have to destroy the village that forced my brother's hand to I have to reform the entire shinobi system as we know it by becoming the ultimate villain of the world. His character evolution is utterly fascinating and as always you do a top job of showing that in this vid.

This video was amazing. I'm a newer Naruto fan and I love the way you describe part of the story. I've been through a rough time recently I resonate with the story of Sasuke, but seeing and hearing it in this way of a person who couldn't see themselves helped open up my own eyes thanks so much. Gotta love Naruto! ❤️

    Amazing.
I was pretty sceptical starting this Video, but i was truly surprised by the quality of this content. I considered myself having practically completely understood this Masterpiece, so much there is nothing new someone could teach me about it.
But you phrased it all so beautifully and gave the personality and the mental state of the characters so good away, you truly gave me a new point of view on this show i always kind of suspected existed but never understood in a way like now.
    Thank you for this Video.

I would have to say that Sasuke is probably the misunderstood character in anime. The people that always try to downplay and disregard his trauma are insane. His brother made him re-watch his family’s death over and over for 72hours and then made him rewatch it again in tsukiyomi when he was 12 years old. People hate him because they think he is evil but he’s really not. Sasuke is often a misunderstood character by the audience. He is either condemned for his past or his mistakes which makes people to even be angry at the slightest bit of happiness he receives but are fine with Gaara and Obito getting redeemed somehow. However I feel that Sasuke is just a bit too much of a complex character for them. Sure, Sasuke made a lot of mistakes however it was all because he wanted to avenge his family and afterwards he got manipulated and sunken into the darkness. I'm not saying that his actions are easily forgivable however he already redeemed himself and is continuing to redeem himself by protecting the village and the world even to this day. I feel that nowadays, people fall too easy for the sob stories instead of trying to actually understand characters too. Maybe if Sasuke had the same backstory as Naruto, people wouldn't have such a negative view on him (Not everyone).
Whether you love him or not,Sasuke is one of the most tragic and complex characters in the show. Not only he suffered most of his life but out of all the characters that we were presented,he needed love into his cold heart and deserved to receive love more than anyone. And he got that thanks to his wife,Sakura ,his daughter,Sarada and his best friend,Naruto. Those are the people who know that the real sasuke is a kindhearted man and that the Sasuke in front of them was just a too hurt and broken Sasuke who was sunk into the darkness. We know how the Uchiha clan is the clan that treasures love the most so once lost, the amount of pain and anger in their heart is unmeasurable described by Kishimoto,-Sasuke is a pure character. If he loves,he truly loves and if he hates,he truly hates. However just because he doesn't act like Naruto does,it doesn't mean that he doesn't love the people around him.The simple fact that he acknowledges you as someone important in his life, should give away how important you are to this character, who truly doesn't allow just anyone close to him. Sasuke is a unique character who deserves more understanding and recognition because out of everyone,he truly proved several times how much he wants to change himself, how much he loves his wife and daughter, how much he treasures his friendship with Naruto and how much he wants to give the new generation a safe world to live in even if that meant sacrificing his own happiness. This man deserves love. He deserves having a warm happy home, and the fact that he has Sakura and Sarada to give that to him,is simply the most important thing because those two and Naruto hold his happiness in their hands...

Sasuke was still “evil”, no matter how complex he is. His past does not justify his actions, and that’s one of the points of the show.

I love the way you explain and contextualize everyone’s part in this story it’s nothing short of truly amazing. From guys sacrifice to obitos continuation of the cycle of vengeance and even Madaras and kaguyas role in it all. You really expanded my understanding of this series and I thank you for that. I gotta ask though where do you get this stuff? I mean you seem to have a pretty thorough understanding of storytelling and the human conditions influence on stories so I’m just curious what your background is if you don’t mind sharing.

15:50 « The home that obscured the light of the shadows was the shadow all along. »
And 20:40 « Atempting to surpass a lord of emptiness. Vapid power. Power for the sake of movement. Movement without a destination. »
Pure poetry, and those lines incapsulate so many of the hidden meanings and raw emotions the show convey.
This video is a work of art and I wish everyone would watch Naruto and then watch that video because the philosophical ideas and answers we get from those two combined are enough to change a way of life ! So happy I found a RUclips channel that actually helped me get past my own, already deep, understanding of Naruto! Thanks a lot 😀

mad props for using a part of the opening Diver for the anime at 44:52 its so sleeped on in showcasing the second act of shippuden in my opinion and the song itself fits so perfectly.
also theres alot of shit the end of shippuden gets but tbh for me everything after kaguya gets sealed is just art at its finest. when sasuke sees himself on the other side with all of narutos allies and says "okay.. then show me..." my heart just breaks and the conversation that follows on madara and hashirama's unison sign aaaaa i could gush for hours

I'm late but this is SO GOOD(I LOVED THE PART WHERE U MENTION THE BORUTO MOVIE/CHUNI EXAMS ARC I DIDN'T SEE THAT COMIN BUT SINCE IT'S DONE BY KISHI I SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN SURPRISED LOL). This vid feels like a culmination of all ur Naruto vids so far touchin on many of the stuff mentioned before & It delivers to reemphasize the entire message of the story thru the character that demonstrates it best as the central Antagonist(s) always show the true plight the protag(s) & the series as a whole face from the beginnin to the very last moment before the screen/page goes blank 1 last time. I love that Sasuke is never truly 100% in the "wrong". I love characters like Naruto that will be stubborn & will attempt/succeed in tryin to get that "perfect" outcome they desire but even Naruto knows thru his journey that often MANY conflicts are settled thru a compromise where sides give/take as evenly as possible & use each others strength for the "best" possible outcome in a situation & embracin all the "good" & "bad" equally together even when not in full agreement brings the most stability & assurance towards whatever comes next. I've loved ur stuff since I found it way back & I'm glad this vid on my fav naruto character exists. Idk if I'll watch ur Boruto stuff (since I'm a hater for life lol) but I'd be down for jus bout anythin else u'll do. He really is the prefect final villain :)
