In this video, I’ll show you how to install a tile pan around a skylight.
A tile pan is a piece of flashing that's installed on rake walls, and can be installed at a skylight, chimney or dormer. The idea is that it creates a channel for water to flow down it and off the roof.

Nice vid. You should move away from nails and use foam, no penetrations means no leaks later as the nails corrode thinner.
