    If you are out there thinking of going to either Zanzibar or Diani, they made that decision easier for you… Come to Diani.

    Come on, to get visa to your country we have to fill up so many pages , do fingerprint even for kids under7yrs, interview, and sometimes you get denied and we don't even get half our money back. But that is your country rule and this is ours. Welcome to Zanzibar .

    We applied 2 weeks before travelling to Zanzibar and only got confirmation 2 days before leaving Kenya for Zanzibar. However, a friend of ours who travelled a similar time to us, never got confirmation, but had a copy of the application and proof of payment which was accepted at the airport on arrival. We also saw people buying their scam health visa at Zanzibar airport, but it looked like it was taking time to do. Unlike getting into Nairobi airport which 2 hours from getting off the plane to actually getting out of the terminal, we got off the plane in Zanzibar , had all our entry requirements checked, picked up bags and got our pre booked transport outside the terminal in about 30 minutes

    While it is important to have insurance, it still remains an individuals personal choice.
    Some European countries make it mandatory, but you still choose an insurance company you approve of.
    There are also very important reasons why they ask travellers to their destinations to be insured. Different companies have unique insurance plans skirted around job risks, in short, everyone belongs to sets of different insurance companies and can be treated in hospitals affiliated to themThis means foreigners are not catered for in this system and that's why one should be covered to avail services. The Zanzibar approach would ruin other insurance companies within the island

    Please I’m really stressed out, I’m going KENYA from UK and I had checked I don’t need yellow fever vaccine BUT after 4 days in Kenya we have booked to travel to Zanzibar and just found out through internet I will require YELLOW FEVER VACCINE. I am pregnant and my doctor advised me not to take it. Please let me know if they will check at the airport 😢😢😢

    • @KenyaTravelSecrets
      @KenyaTravelSecrets  Месяц назад +1

      @@rozbr6 they check and will make you take it there at the border unfortunately. Not unless you can maybe bring a doctors letter that you can not take it because of your pregnancy

      We had a week in Kenya and had Yellow Fever jabs before leaving UK. We then flew from Nairobi to Zanzibar for 5 nights and had our YF certificate checked at the airport along with Visa and the new “Scam” Health Insurance. They are literally waiting to check all this before you get a stamp in your passport and collect your luggage

    I deeply concerned about negative impact of tourism on zanzibar, both in terms of economic and harm to the community and culture. Tourism can bring unintended consequences, especially when it's not managed properly like in our beautiful zanzibar.
    While tourism is often promoted as a way to boost economy, in zanzibar it lead to price inflation . Tourist drive up the cost of living, making essentials unaffordable for locals. I feel unfair benefits opportunities aren't accessible to most zanzibaris.
    Tourists behave disrespect fully some cases exploit vulnerable people, such as children .
    I wish for the end of tourism industry in zanzibar altogether. I think the damage is already too great.

    Taking Care and making sure of your own Health is NOT an "Annoying" thing. Do you know how many People get Sick when they in their hotels or beaches in Zanzibar? Do you know some people usually come to Zanzibar with money just to spend on entertainments but don't have money to pay for medical incase they fall Sick? Who do you thing is going to treat them without paying incase they fall sick? How the Europe Insurance is going to Apply or pays Hospitals or Doctors in Zanzibar or Tanzania? You should put all thing in consideration too that how do you think your insurance is going to agree to Pay a healthcare company in Zanzibar on time without back and forth and lots of disturbances for money from insurance company in Europe to pay a doctor in Zanzibar. Try to think before bragging about $44 because that $44/money is not even enough to buy 1 bottle of Tylenol and Magnesium pills for Pains or irritate Stomach but it can treat you in a big hospital incase you fall sick.

      Then give them the choice to choose their own health care and not the government one

      @@KenyaTravelSecrets it might be difficult to verify who has one or not and with whom. Its far more easier to just implement their own and as this is Africa they may not be able to do so as insurance company papers will be in a variety of languages not to mention different outlays of medical cover. Lovely video by the way.

      Is English your first language? She is German, but her English is clear and logical. She mentioned that she can has or can obtain insurance more cheaply from her home country, but is being forced to purchase a more expensive policy, which she might not need since she is already covered. These multinational companies that handle insurance are profiting twice: first in the insured's home country and then again through the governments of another country, disregarding the fact that coverage has already been paid for. I don't think she complained about needing insurance; she complained about having insurance that wasn't accepted because it is not from Zanzibar.

      Along with the $40 visa, if you want to attract tourism, make it reasonably priced. US ESTA $20 for UK citizens, Australia visa free! We loved Zanzibar only arriving home yesterday, but the extra costs leave a sour taste.
