    Damn, so it seems to be there isn't an option for those of us with less than 5 comments per month on our small websites. I'll take a look into Staticman, though

    don't use diqus, they use Facebook code embedded in their backend

    Wow, commenting systems are quite expensive! Nothing for bloggers, it means you have to sell a product to give people the ability to write on your blog.

    So if your site gets a lot of comments, the site will be constantly rebuilt every time? I'm not sure if that qualifies as "static" anymore? Thanks for the overview.

      Right now I get 5 comments per day on average. So, it's not a problem.

    If I am not using a Jekyll, only with html and css code to implement a website, can I use Staticman, too?

    How does Staticman handle spam ?

      It supports Akismet for spam filtering.
