    Very pretty, the color reminds me of the 1950's aesthetic. I preferred the satin to the highly polished metal, but both are lovely.

    I was lucky enough to pick up a buck 110 this weekend that's got a filed spine on the lock bar and blade, that's also a switch blade. I didn't know they made them like that, but it's a really cool knife!

      @@kyle_noseworthy they just made them legal in Michigan a few years ago, so I lucked into mine at a really good price! I have a standard 110 like you had in the video too. Lovely iconic tools!

    Hey Kyle buddy! As a fisherman here in newfoundland along with the rest of the fisherman on this channel. You should design us a knife specifically for rope and twine for something to have as a razor shape knife on our hip. I been looking everywhere for something similar and i know your a real professional when it comes to knifes 😁😁😁hahah

      I cant afford not to with the amount of time I spend working in the shop. The effects over time just aren't worth it, especially with how comfortable modern ppe is! Once you get used to it, it's far more comfortable to have it on.

    Nice work, I am not a fan of wood scales...clean work you do! You call it file work, lol...but all you use is machinery to add decoration...filework is a skill and will be applied by hand with specialized metal files...in this case....diamond files because of hardened steel....not an easy job but way more detailed decorations able to produce!! Nice video!!

    I love polished brass but in this case it detracts from that beautiful burl pattern so def satin.

    wow Kyle all I have to say Is man you are a legand! when it comes to blades you are the best! iv watched loads of knife sharpening and know one comes close to your standard of work how do I get you to do my knife please please let me know I'm 44 and have had my knife since I was 15 which was made in the Portsmouth dock yard England a very hard blade indeed I so want this knife to be perfect please help.     I have a buck knife I’m not sure it’s a 110 or not . looks like it .
    but it has finger grips.
    I wonder if you could add finger grips to a regular 110 buck

    Very beautiful outcome on that knife!!... I have a question for you; I've seen many videos from several people who 'make'/modify knives but I've NEVER seen anyone replace the blade on Buck 110/112, is that even possible???

      It sure is! The pivot pin is faintly visible and can be driven out to replace a blade

      @@kyle_noseworthy Good to know! I have an old 110 that I've had for almost 50yrs old that has a lot of sentimental value to me. It's taken a lot of HARD use over the years and has never let me down... I'm considering having it customized but it would be pointless to do so unless I can get a new blade as I want to gift it to one of my grand kids and I want to give him something special instead of some 'janky' old knife.... Thank you for the quick reply!!

    15:25 Seems you glued the blade on the liners. How did you get the Epoxy out there? Or did you simply throw the whole knife into the scrap bin?

    I get that you've shown sharpening and cleaning up blades in a lot of videos so I think it's fine to not show the whole process some of the time, but come on! How can you not show off the knife at the very end with the blade all finished?!? The handle looks so great, but seeing it next to the scuffed up blade just feels a little unsatisfying.

    Y’know, I’m not a knife guy at all. Not even a little bit. They are tools, I like to keep ‘em sharp and working, that’s it.
    I am, however, a rescue the old RV and make something useful from it kind of guy. I enjoyed that content, so I subscribed, now I find out about every knife video, which I could care less about. Don’t know where this is going… has happened many times, enjoy an off-subject series from a channel dedicated to content not of interest. Guess I’ll have to be more careful about subscribing.

    Based on the blade stampings, that (was) one of the very first Buck 110's ever made (1961-1967). You do great work, but I question you and your customer's decision to do that to a collector's piece. He could have just gone to the store and bought a new one if he wanted that kind of work done to a knife and sold THAT one to a collector to pay for the work you did. What a shame....

    NOPE. While that's nice, it pales compared to my Buck 110 with extensive filework and stag scales. KME mirror polished razor sharp edge. Interesting video though.

      haha You think so? I'm not convinced. I can't speak to his stuff in in the last 5 years or so, but I used to listen to a lost of his 'talks' from years ago and I found a ton of value in most of them. There were many pragmatic strategies that I could easily implement immediately. Very valuable to me.
