I would be guessing if I told you, but everyone loves different things. I do not live there. I went for a day to relax and found it to be a nice little place. I would say maybe go there and feel it out before you consider it your retirement possibility.
I was looking into moving there for a job so some family nearby checked it out for me. It was their opinion that besides Main Street it was not a good area. What did you think of the ride going into town? I'm so torn.
LOL sorry nobody gave you any details, one person said it's horrible.. guess in their mind that was defining.. I heard from other's it's small, nice and doesn't have a bunch of out of control party animals, drunk and pathetic..Heck living in the D.C. area and space cadet California that is a good thing.. People have been brainwashed to accept the world full of shallow ideas, materialistic junk..when it comes down to it the most important thing a Love, Love of Family, real friends and the Creator of us the Creation..that's all that matters in the long run..
Sorry for the late reply I was out on the ship working two months ago but yes it's a nice place but for me to live there it might be a little boring but it sure makes a nice drive on a nice Saturday from Virginia Beach

Not much there anymore left 35 years ago and just seems to keep getting smaller and smaller. My family has lived in the area since 1700’s.

Elizabeth city can be fun at times but it can get boring REALLY quickly
