4:03 He just called a legend Jeremy Stevens.
Am I missing something?
I heard that too 😂😂wtf
Yeah at the 9 min mark as well. 2 times lmao
Yeah, you are missing people being dumb and misinformed.
He not only called an Olympic medalist the wrong name twice, but I'm pretty sure Spriggs never wrestled in any capacity lmao
I remember the first time Travis Stevens decides to go to BJJ!! He is a warrior!! Thank you for the video! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💪🏼💯🥋
Thanks Otávio!
Might be his elite level Judo competition instincts kicking in rushing to try and finish the armbar. You’ll notice how he was gripping Tim’s 4 fingers or knuckle line when trying to seperate his hands. Travis has often mentioned that Judokas commonly use wrist locks in Judo competition to get the quick armbar (due to the ne waza restrictions). I feel like if Travis took an extra second to secure the wrist grip, he definitely would have easily finished Tim’s super extended arm. Nonetheless a very dominant and technical performance 👏👏👏
Excellent comment. Thank you. Travis is a very technical athlete in both judo and jiujtsu!! And, buddy, don't forget to subscribe to the channel and enable notifications to receive alerts for new live event broadcasts:

what do u mean by wrist locks?
Absolutely! He was an armbar specialist in judo
Stevens is the real deal. I don’t think there was ever a mistake- true pro right there 💪
Good match.
Agree!
Amazing newaza Travis part!!!
You said it correctly: ne-waza!
Travis is not even taking this seriously. He looks bored and disappointed with the competition.
He is fighting a brown belt, what would you expect.
He said on multiple interviews bjj is just some side hobby he does apart from judo
@@LC-hv1qn That's not just any brown belt. Tim Spriggs won the IBJFF worlds at brown belt that year and would go on to beat Keenan Cornelius just a few months after this match.
I mean, the dude went straight to close guard twice, what do you expect.
Bjj needs to allow slams. Without it the art is finger painting
Said the golfer 🤣
Slams can seriously injure people, so I’m not very pro slamming in competition, but they should at least do it like judo where if you pick up your opponent in guard or even when you’re in a triangle and lift them up, they break and award points, acknowledging you could have slammed.
Tim Springs is so terrified of a takedown that he was like "nah I'll just pull guard twice."
Lame.
Yes, why would you fight a master judoka on the feet? You'd be an idiot if you didn't change your strategy
He face elite level Judoka, his BJJ instincts kicked in and he go pull guard.
@@m5a1stuart83 The BJJ instincts must involve lots of cowardice
@@zadkiel242yeah ok buddy. Guy is a silver medalist Olympian judoka. It’s not ”cowardice” He doesn’t want to get thrown and put into a position to lose the match. His job is to try and use the best strategy to win the match. Getting in a stand up battle with an Olympic medalist in judo is not a good strategy. Why don’t you go compete against Spriggs in anything and get back to me. Lol
@@zadkiel242 this pull by Travis is cowardice too. Do you know any idea about the grappling game about why he would do that and don’t read my comment that explains why.

The Walking Dead theme at the start was an unexpected gem^^.
Man, that pulling guard on the open is soooo lame.
Top tier grappling.
weird how it just ended silently with no applause and the commentator just saying "that's it" with no excitement.
They know Travis will win.
I watched Travis at the Olympics crazy how he's beating life long bjj guys
He got a black belt from Danaher my guy.
danaher is awesome he uses the Japanese terms for techniques instead of the brazilian ones.
@@Kwisatz-Chaderach If Danaher give you a Blackbelt You are a Blackbelt.
@@m5a1stuart83 damn straight. Danaher is the GOAT of newaza coaches.
Jeremy Stevens??
travis twin brother
Judo is more elegant!
Judo is the best!
Guard pulling should be illegal. Such garbage
against an olympic silver medalist in judo
Can’t even get his name right ffs
Yes, Michael! Travis no Jeremy! Thanks! Don't forget to subscribe to the channel and enable notifications to receive alerts for new live event broadcasts:

Why is he facing a brown belt?
Brown/black belts are in same division some times
His opponent was the reigning world champion at brown belt that year. He wasn't really a "brown belt", he was regularly beating world class black belts at that point.
The twd intro tho
The commentators are terrible.
Did I just witness a bjj brown belt turn and give up his back to break open the guard ? That has to be the dumbest shit I’ve seen ever. Even white belts aren’t that stupid. If I’m seeing this wrong somebody please tell me.
Looks correct to me
Dude!!! steven is a beast domination yikes
Disapointed high level judo guy are we surprised?Lol
why this tim turn his back to travis when he was opening his guard. That didn't seem like a reasonable thing to do.
So this is supposed to be superior to judo... 🤦
of course the black guy pulled the guard, if you engage a stand up dog fight with a judoka of Travis Stevens level you just fly like a puppet out of the mat
