- Honduras Walks - Today’s Location: Tegucigalpa, Honduras 🇭🇳♥️
TGU is the capital of Honduras! Today we stroll through Los Proceres, a luxurious and high end plaza connected next to Nova Centro (mall).
Unfortunately, I was asked to stop filming so I had to cut the video short (I guess most private locations in the capital don't allow recording). I lived in TGU for about 2.5 years (before the pandemic) and it was one of the greatest experiences I've had living in Honduras so far. The diversity in people, businesses and restaurants is SO much more present in the capital, say compared to San Pedro Sula.
However, everyone will tell you that driving in the capital is a MESS. And that "capitalinos" are a bit arrogant and conceited but that's far from the truth!

In my opinion Honduras is the most complete country in Central America, it has a bit of everything, beautiful beaches, different styles of cities, variety of climates, colonial towns, countryside, mountains, valleys. I am surprised that when I made my trip to Honduras nobody told me about the main cities, if I had known, I would have gone for a walk to their cities and their colonial towns, besides I went to the beaches. By the way, one guy told me that it is the country with the most colonial towns in Central America.
Yeah you're actually pretty accurate. We're actually pretty diverse however, as a nation and government we do a bad job in attracting tourism, and of course being labeled as "the most dangerous" doesn't help. I didn't realize how diverse we were until I started filming and actually traveling to rural areas.
We have a few pockets in the country where the tempetures are REALLY COLD and pine trees everywhere (reminds me parts of Canada).

As someone who's from Minneapolis, MN, USA, I have to say, this part of Tegucigalpa, Honduras is amazing.
It really is, and there are tons of hidden gems like this in the capital, but of course it’s always overlooked by poverty and crime unfortunately but here I am shining some light! Thanks for the comment ✌🏻

As an American raised in Tegucigalpa, I spent a lot of the end of my childhood in Nova Centro. It's VERY nice, and was nice back when I last lived in Honduras. It has a very different feel compared to other malls in Tegus.
That's super cool man, TGU and Honduras has changed a lot but unfortunately the main issues still exist. I grew up in Southern California but I'm a native to Honduras so coming back was pretty wild.

How is the economic situation in Honduras?
Hey!! Just reading this I took a long break.
I would say still very fragile for locals or for people dependent in the Honduras economy itself.
BUT there is a wave of online workers here as well ( same trend as US ) and that’s really allowing those group of workers rate themselves at an international market compared to Honduras market.
Things aren’t great, but they aren’t say at levels like Argentina or Cuba. Everything is just so damn corrupt here

que bonito video muy cerca de ahí a tan solo 20 o 30 minutos a pie hay muchas colonias con pobreza extrema , barrios marginales que nadie graba ni se interesa, por ejemplo colonia la fraternidad , colonia sabanagrande , colonia la esperanza , el reparto etc. etc.
Cierto, eso lo noté al saliendo de la plaza hay colonias pobre. Un día quiero grabar en una colonia así pero que también no sea tan peligrosa

Me gustó el video, aunque corto por los de seguridad, pero muestra esa zona de la capital que es muy segura para los extranjeros que nos visitan en ese hotel, lo cual es bueno que lo miren ya que en esa zona puedes andar tranquilamente, salir de tu hotel irte al Centro Comercial. Muy mala onda de los de seguridad y administración de los Centros Comerciales al prohibir grabar, me imagino que los Shopping Mall de otros países no tienen tanta restricción (por lo que he visto en videos en RUclips). Que más bien estás dando a conocer, prácticamente estás dando publicidad de gratis. Saludos.

La toma fue en 2022 creo que estaban construyendo una torre de parqueos de 10 pisos y un call Center que ya lo terminaron al otro lado
es un edificio que ya se termino se llama grupo ventus, y alli estan alquilando oficinas muy bonitas.

Great question! From MY experience I think there is more English spoken in the capital ( I lived in Tegucigalpa for 2 years ) and I felt that in the capital when I spoke English, most people were open to attempting to speak back in English compared to San Pedro, I felt most would just wait for me to switch to Spanish and accommodate for them.
But if you visit Roatan ( or any Bay Island ) you won’t hear anyone speaking Spanish by default it’s always English.
