I see a few things in the comments, so I'll answer them. This does work in bedrock edition, all mechanics used are not features exclusive to Java. Also, when he tells you to use glass, you can use solid blocks, it does not matter

instead of vines you can use trapdoors supposedly other YT's say to use a trapdoor that cant burn but i think lava cant burn trapdoors on 1.20 so you should be good to use any of the trapdoors i think.
