I love this song. I listen to it at least every 2nd day... Willie Nelson wrote it, but Elvis is by far the best singer of this song ever! The power of his voice at the end is fantastic... tks Captain. Great review.. 👍🎸⚡🇿🇦

True music lovers choose other true music lovers to share the stage. Elvis always had the best bands and band mates. He LOVED music and sound and he showed that to us by how he delivers them. He was an artist.

CAPTAIN TOM, SIR: You couldn't be more right, there's no coulda, woulda, shoulda, when someone is gone. Even friendships suffer badly when there isn't a chance some how to make amends.
Elvis can sing any type or genre of music and brand it his own. Fun fact: Once early in the beginnings of his career, Elvis appeared on WSM's "Grand Ole Opry". After he was done singing, the head of the "Opry" told Elvis "Son, you better look for some other kind of work. You'll never make it in this business".
    THANK YOU!

IMO Elvis always stayed true to his pure love of music , no matter the genre ... that's why every song he sings sounds so personal to him . He believed in the songs ( excluding some of the movie ones ) ... he made us feel them too ! Thanks Captain Tom !

I love this song. Unfortunately, I can't listen to Elvis singing this one without getting emotional.
I don't know why or how, but Elvis seems to be one of the very, very few that does that to me.
I love his country album, too. It's my second favorite (thus far).

Hey Tom I love this song. It so relaxed and tipical of his southern roots. That was what made him so great his mixture of country ,gospel and blues. Us ladies feel like he is singing to us individually. He really catered to his audience and worried constantly that he was letting them down. Thank you for keeping his memory alive. Be Blessed.

This is a Perfect example of how he could portray the song. He didn't write anything, but he made it feel like it was coming from his soul. Even though he was just Covering it.

CAPTAIN TOM, SIR: Just thinking about music--songs, songwriters, and singers today made me think about Elvis again. His last recorded L.P. Moody Blue, has a great version of "He'll Have To Go", a song made famous by the legendary Jim Reeves. Jim does a wonderful take himself on the country tune. Elvis maintains the original spirit of the song but also adds a bluesy touch.
    Just a thought! THANK YOU!

Actually it isn't funny at all how times slips away!
When you are at a special part in your life, you try to stop the time.⏳

Yeah, it's not a ha, ha song. The word "funny" in the context of this song means interesting or surprising. That latter word Elvis uses in the last part of the song.

      of course it's not funny.
But the funny thing is, that we have exact the same phrase here in Germany.
" Es ist schon lustig wie schnell die Zeit vergeht ".
Hope you are well in these troubled times! ☀️☮

    Mr . Captain ,
From those accounts of Elvis's friends on Elvis feelings..in 77.
    It was:
He divorced on his BD.. Five days before Aloha , Hawaii concert.
Precilla P. did get tired of his cheating. He kiss women liked crazy on theirs lips 💋. everywhere he went.
She finally cheated. ELVIS did not want more children. She wanted a son too?
The man she cheated with was a man he knew?
Elvis went into a rage? He wanted him dead? He ask a friend to kill him. But, later he said, he was not meaning it.
He admitted he did love Precilla P. and got depress.
He did ask her bk.. She said, no? It was many times! HE ASK HER TO SHOW UP AT HIS CONCERTS. SHE WOULD LEAVE SOON AFTERWARDS. N
ELVIS THEN started pulling away and lying in bed.
He gained weight because he chose oily foods blks.was forced to eat. He was not eating like a king! He was not even eating like a millionaire. He reduce himself as if he was a hated blk. man. This is the 70s o.k. Black men in the South did have it bad. We were going thru whats he went thru? My dad ate the same stuff. ELVIS ACTED BLACK!!
Elvis started stuttering, tripping, reading his lines on stage. The lyrics. He actually had paper!! Singing to its words.
He was told to snap out of it.
Why was he eating likes a peasants out of 🥣bowls.? A homeless person?. THIS IS WHAT FRIENDS ASK?
His friends told him to stop working. HE WAS STRESSED.
Elvis said, he was in debt. He needed Precilla bk..
He grieved until he took too many pills 💊
    He accidentally killed himself.
He had went to the dentist. He did have a tooth pain.
He tried to gets rid of the pains. He was on tour. He wanted to look good. He had lost 20 pounds.
This is according to his friends.
This was soon after his death. People then called him a drug user..!!
He had prescriptions pills. He did not smoke or drink. No drugs. He served snack foods at parties. Cookies, candies, sodas.. according to friends in the band. He loved to sing church songs at his parties.
