Hopefully, next week Ryan is finally going to get caught ! It's more than time to end the #whokilledamy storyline ! It has been going on for a year now damn !
It derailed long ago. There is almost not any point of attempting to tie it up, cause all the ends are too short to make a proper not. Too much of it don`t add up logically, or is plainly too ridiculous to could have happened. Partial footprint identified from a shoe BOX instead of a sole (would hold no evidentiary value whatsoever in real life - but in Hollyoaks it had Ste looked away on remand for months, because of a confession he had fed detail for detail by D.S. Armstrong. In real life whoever typed out Ste`s confession from what was on the recording, would have realized as much, alerted his/her superior - and the confession would have been deemed unsound, and Armstrong removed as lead investigator. Maybe even viewed as a possible suspect, since he was so keen to frame Ste?), the autopsy not revealing Amy had been inflicted more than one injury, and injuries at more than one time that night - which it should have, for the version of both Harry and Ryan to have caused Amy bodily harm, James trying to pass off a fresh blood sample, stolen from hospital, to not only have been on Ste`s sneakers for 4 months, but to also have been submerged under water in the pond for those months, and therefore the fresh and non-polluted blood drop would have stuck out like a sore thumb as a plant. But worse of it all probably was seeing photos Milo had hacked from Armstrong`s computer introduced as evidence in court Armstrong had stalked Amy. Not only does a photo only reveal the subject photographed - not the photographer, but those photos would never have been admissible in court, since the fact they were hacked would make it impossible to know for sure whether they had anything to do with Armstrong - or not. All the time Milo had the capability of obtaining access, and to get the photos out of Milo`s laptop, he could also have been the one to have placed them there in the first place. Which is why those photos never would have been admissible in a real court of law. The whole story line has just been ridiculous, unrealistic and illogical, serving up one development more surreal than the next! Whoever came up with that story line should do a lot of research into subjects like the law, police procedures and rules of investigation, forensics, forensic medicine AND LOGIC before attempting a whodunit again. Cause the Amy killing, as a crime story, whodunit and murder plot, FLUNKED! It was more incorrect than that, from a legal point of view, disastrously badly put together consent story line between Ellie and Nick.
And I love that Leah mentioned Harry (everyone else on this show seems to have forgot him smh) and she clearly doesn't hate him despite thinking he accidentally killed her mum. It might take her some time, but she'll defo forgive him when she knows the full story.
Interesting, I like the way Ste and Leah were written in this episode. Leah's always been a diva but she's clearly acting up cos she's lost almost everyone and feels no stability. Ste has always been a bit thick in an endearing way and it makes sense he wouldn't see Leah's psychology. If Ste still had Harry, he would ask his advice like he always did. Harry once told Ste he knew how Leah felt, that he never had his dad in his life, that she needs to feel safe which is exactly what she said about Ryry. But of course everything about Ryan is a lie, which will tear her apart again when she finds out.
Even if the kids are rude too Ste, I do NOT want Ryan too have them, not after what he's done. he's the who shoud in prison, NOT Harry. and when will Ryan be *GONE* for good?
I disagree. Because of his fear of being found out as gay, Ryan wasn`t in control of his actions neither when he killed Amy, nor when he attempted to kill Tegan or even when he kidnapped Kim. Intent is the central condition for any conviction - a person has to be aware of, and able to stop the act, to be held responsible for it. In Ryan`s case there is much to suggest that hasn`t been the case. Neither of the acts were pre planned, all of them came pretty much at the spur of the moment, guided by Ryan`s irrationally strong fear of being found out as gay. A fear so irrationally strong, it can be sided with a schizophrenic hearing voices commanding him/her to kill, or a paranoid`s irrational fear of his/her own life and safety, making such a person kill in what he/she believes to be self defense. In my opinion Ryan undoubtedly was insane when he committed all of these acts, and for that reason cannot be held legally responsible for them. But he also, because of his irrational fear of being called or discovered to be gay, represents a clear danger to other people, and for that reason should be kept and treated in a mental institution, until he no longer do so. Depending on whether the therapy worked, or not, he could be in the institution for anything from a few months to his entire life. But having been insane when he did what he did, it would be unfair and unjust to convict him. Should his mental condition improve, he should be allowed back into society. Too often the attention to how society as a whole, or the victim`s relatives and friends specifically, would feel, is giving more consideration by both courts and politicians than the reality the person accused was not aware what he/she was doing at the time, and therefore - by right - cannot be convicted. Unfortunately there are many people jailed unjustly all over the world, because too many people fail to distinguish between acts committed with intent, and those committed as a result of mental insanity of various types.
oh yeah, ste misses ryan!!! not harry. and he said Leah, Lucas and him - that's it. hope it takes a long time till he and harry get back together (like HO promised)and James is the fool ... again :-(. And one question, didn't Ryan destroy his phone? How can he get a message now? Or did i miss something?
