- I am going to attempt the impossible. Do a knife review on the monsterous Full Size Praetorian Ti frim Medford Knife & Tool. This particular example festures:
Vulcan s45vn tanto blade
Predator sculpted Ti handles with Scorched Earth Finish
Let me know how I did
Damn! That's a cool ceremonial ground breaking shovel!
I watched a few vids of MKT about this knife. Greg stated he gave a praetorian to a navy seal and gave the seal a new generation for an upgrade after 5 years of hard use. I also liked the video on a tour of his factory and how he checks his knives for QC was actually quite impressive. I love this knife and I'm fortunate to own a few, and quite frankly, there is no substitute..... To quote Ferris Bueller " I love driving it!, it is so choice. If you have the means I recommend picking one up"
Crazy looking blade colors!
Love Medford knives. Great video and stunning blade.

Edited to add it’s also a bonecrusher 👍🏾
😅
The optics on that knife is insane!! If u hadn't said so, I would have thought it was a 3" blade. I can only assume it's because of the girth and how tall the flat is on that bad boy. She's a chunker that's for sure lol
😁
Update- I just ordered a custom straight from Medford. Idk how long it’ll take to get here. Also, It would be real cool if you do a torture test with one of your praetorian ti. I
I have a newer tumbled drop point TI in 3v that’s actually pretty damn slicey. But I’m still more likely to break down a door with it rather than open my amazon package with it. Still love it though. Thanks for reviewing it
The dropnpoints are my favorite
I like the Medford Praetorian they are great knives. It’s funny how people will talk trash about Medfords but go nuts over a CKF Traktor or Misgard whatever the f*$k they’re called lol They are unique beefy and badass. Secondly, about heat treat….there is a lonnnnnnnnnnng list of companies that don’t heat treat at the optimal levels. And the only steel Medford wouldn’t treat at the optimum level is Magnacut. You are more than fine with the S45
I believe Greg was on a podcast not to long ago where his more recent magnacut from the past year is now heat treated to 63-64 now. I agree that it should be heat treated to the recommended specs. My whole thing is with the softer heat treat is yeah its easier to sharpen, but ive found it to be having to sharpen way more often.
That's great of that true. And wanting to use steel that's easier to sharpen is valid, I just ask that you use a steel that's easier to sharpen when hest treated to spec, rather than using a harder steel but hest treating it to lower HRC to achieve that
That’s such a beauty! Im about to buy my 3rd Medford. None so special as that one. There is a sweet drop this weekend on Medford’s site with Trump graphics on them, if that’s your thing.
I have a Praetorian in magnacut. Bught it cause it looked great, and it was the only one in that steel plus black coated
Awesome review! I am trying to get the same one you had before. The purple one. Please let me know if the person you sold it to want to sell it. I’ll give him good money!!!!
Medfords are a notch above the "holy Trinity" imo. The fit and finish and overall smoothness is always spot on. I have a genesis T, Praetorian T, and a full blown TI and they are top notch quality. You get what you pay for as we all know. American made with amazing "legacy" warranty. I also like Greg and agree with his political rants!
You said it all, I agree with you 100%.Medford made me a custom, supposedly one of the last made micro ti's.Great people,by far my favorite knives
I agree with ya
For the price I would consider this knife more of a peice of art than a tool
I don't think it's too big for a big guy with large hands. Maybe too big for me to edc. But it would be too small for Shaq. Lol.
🤣
Great review thank you but not my cup of tea i have heard bad things about Medford knives plus the price 😢
I would love to buy a Medford, but nothing I have heard has made me think there is anything I am missing by not having one.
Dude, it's obviously the type of knife you take to a bear fight.
🤣
If I had to have a pretorian it would probably be that one.
👊
Ok that's a nice knife and all.....but what is that pocket clip? Eww brother, what's THAT brother. 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m at the point that when I see a “pocket tank” like that, all I see is wasted material and extra run time on the machines to make the parts. Think of how many useful knives could have been made instead.
Cold steel makes absolute monsters, but those are all damn capable and can cut pretty well due to nice grinds. Stuff like this… ew. It’s like the knife equivalent of a lifted pavement princess.
Should be $200
🤣🤣🤣
Beautiful
I'm serious!! If American manufacturers can offer an entire AR-15 for $500, then these knives should be $200.
The machines pretty much run themselves! The entire process is automated to the point that labor is so cheap per unit. And the materials are cheap in bulk!
Now I understand that AR-15s get sold on an order of magnitude 20x this knife, but I mean, come on... Stop gouging everyone...
@@stevenicholas5651 You just answered your own question.nIf overhead is the same, machines, people, raw materials. Then you have to have way bigger margins on the thing that sells less units. If the ar sales are 20x you can make WAY less margin on each unit to gain the same profit. Medfor only sells a few hundred of these a year.
Beautiful and rugged.
Awesome review, Carter! I was going to PM you on IG and askif you still had it haha😂-Scott
Nope. Sorry, it's gone
@@edged_mindset I thought so. I have too many already 😂
